During the end of the '80's hair era I managed to break free of a very confining and even somewhat abusive marriage...I went pretty nuts. I met the ex during my punk phase and though he kept right on partying, I was not permitted to...somehow as I progressed in my career and got older, I was not supposed to go to concerts anymore. It was (by his definition) something you do when you are younger. Of course, he kept right on going...For those of you that are saying "I would have just done what I damn well wanted"...well you just haven't been there. That is a whole different website alltogether. Regardless, I made up for it for a couple of years after we went our separate ways and the following are some of my stories...people I met and funny and touching things that happened. Sorry, nothing too sleazy...
Me and my partners in crime at the time must have seen Slaughter about 5 or 6 times. I met Mark Slaughter (such a babe!) after my friend followed his limo back to their hotel after a show. I was basically shoved by my friend who was sick of listening to me talk about what a babe he was...I almost fell into him. I never quite know what to say to them...I'm not one for autographs and I don't like to gush like everyone else does. I managed to tell him what a great show it was and he was very gracious and put me at ease quickly. The second time we met them was before a show at an outdoor arena and the whole band came out. It was a beautiful day and we were able to go up early in the day and bring the kids...I have a picture of me and Mark and my 2 1/2 year old. The whole band was very cool with the kids...much appreciated.
I saw the Bullet Boys a couple of times. We met them the same day we took the kids with us when we met Slaughter (2nd time). The were very cool. They had a lot of fun with the kids...they spent a lot of time messing around with them. I really loved that band...I thought they were way underrated...
