2/5/08 - Red Bank students vote in mock primary
Don’t tell students that their votes in today’s mock presidential election at Red Bank High School don’t count. More than 1,000 students, many of whom are too young to vote officially in Tennessee’s primary election today, flooded the halls of their school to cast votes for candidates from Barack Obama to Ron Paul MORE at Chattanooga Times Free Press
Financial checks and balances
When today’s seventh-graders make their way into Bumper Reese’s classroom at Red Bank High School in two years, they will learn to balance checkbooks, create a personal budget and file taxes. Mr. Reese, a Red Bank teacher for 16 years, will dedicate a full quarter to a personal finance class when new high school standards take effect across Tennessee in 2009.
