Rayner
Donovan Statham was born in Winchester, Virginia on December
26, 1968. Rayner is the son of Rowan and Alexus Statham. Rayner
lived most of his life in Moorefield, West Virginia.
As
Rayner grew older, he enjoyed watching televised wrestling
events. After going to a wrestling show in a nearby town,
Keyser, West Virginia... Rayner's mind had been made up. He
wanted to become a professional wrestler.
At
age 19, Rayner left home, in search of his new life as a professional
wrestler. Rayner received the horrific news of his parents'
death just two days after arriving in Los Angeles, California
on a business meeting with an upstart federation.
Coping
with the loss of his parents, Rayner realized it would make
his parents proud to see him make it to the big time. Two
months later, around March of 1997, Rayner was accepted into
Thunder Championship Wrestling at the age of 26. Rayner's
debut match pitted him against TCW's Doc Steele and Mr.
Big Stuff. Rayner went on to win the 2 on 1 match. This win
captured the eye of alot of wrestling fans. Before he knew
it, Rayner had become the man that the majority of the fans
would place their bets on to win. In only Brad's second match
with the TCW, he captured his first piece of gold, as he defeated
then TCW Hard-Core Champion, MORTICULAR via the TRUCK BOMB
(a devastating powerbomb from a pickup bed to hard pavement).
Rayner coined himself "The God Of Hard-Core" for
the remainder of his career in the TCW, as he went on to capture
5 more Hard-Core Championships in almost 1 full calendar year.
Around
the middle of 1998, the TCW would suffer from bankruptcy and
would close it's doors. Dan Jackson built up spinoff franchise,
Thunder Wrestling Federation for the out-of-work talent from
the fallen TCW. Rayner quickly came aboard the TWF bandwagon.
By the end of his career in the TWF's first outting, Rayner
had managed to capture 3 Hard-Core Championships, along with
being the longest running Hard-Core Champion in ANY of the
TWF's 3 outtings. Rayner also managed to score his first ever
World Heavyweight Championship before the death of the TWF.
Garry
Ankrom and Dan Jackson put their heads together, and reaching
their sufficient amount of funds, once again gave birth to
TCW and TWF... in the form of TCWF... promising the superstars
more than in their first outtings. About 3 months later, due
to little action and once again, low funds, the TCWF died.
Dan
Jackson was there once again to pick up the pieces as he gave
birth to the TWF once more. In the course of 4 months, Rayner
had won 2 Hard-Core Championships and 1 Lightweight Championship.
The TWF died 4 months in, for the 2nd time, leaving alot of
wrestlers out in the cold.
Rayner
was then called up by his father, CORPORAL PUNISHMENT... who
had managed to score him in with the big men at Global Internet
Wrestling Federation. Rayner didn't stay with the GIWF for
but about 2 1/2 months, where he was then called by Jerr Hose...
owner of the Hardcore Championship Wrestling Federation.
During
Rayner's extreme career with the HCWF, he managed to hold
the Hard-Core Championship once for 3 weeks. About a month
before the final HCWF pay-per-view, Rayner managed to capture
both the HCWF Hard-Core Championship and the World Heavyweight
Championship. At the final pay-per-view, Rayner would have
to face long time friend DRAVEN LOX in a Hard-Core/Heavyweight
Title Unification Match. The end result, Draven scored a victory
over Rayner, winning both titles, thus, the end of the HCWF.
Dan
Jackson once again resurrected the TWF in it's final outting.
During the reign of Jackson, Rayner won 1 Hard-Core Championship,
as well as 1 Tag Team Championship reign for about 2 months
with his father, CORPORAL PUNISHMENT by his side. Dan Jackson
became mentally ill, leaving the company without a leader.
Rayner forfeited his Tag Team gold to take position as the
president of the Thunder Wrestling Federation. Little to Rayner's
knowledge, Dan Jackson and Garry Ankrom had concocted a plan
to take him out of the wrestling business for good. Their
attempt worked, or so they thought... as they brought down
the TWF with them... and Rayner nowhere to be found.
During
the course of Rayner's third TWF outting, he and SMOKESCREEN
jumped ship to the UWF where they managed to win the UWF Tag
Team Championship belts, and then defected back to the TWF
where they would unify the belts.
Rayner
quickly jumped back on the GIWF roster alongside his father
and STUDOG ESCOBAR. Rayner was with the Law and Order faction
for the entire month that he was in the GIWF... until he took
his abrupt leave from the organization...
From
the course of the beginning of March 2001, up until last night,
January 22nd, 2004.... No one had heard from Rayner Donovan
Statham... Until he made his presence felt at FREEDOM's live
special Thursday night event, "EXILE"
