The Inevitable Terremoto of the Quietones

Welcome to the quietones' Terremoto!

Terremoto-n : "shaking and vibration at the surface of the earth resulting from underground movement"- literally terrestrial motion, or movement of the earth

A concoction of the musical elements in grunge/thrasher/hardcore/punk with sides of emo, acoustic, and surfer.

Current Status of the Band:

Jordan and Russell are looking for the ideal Christian punk drummer while continuing school at Liberty University, living in the dorms there, becoming an acoustic band for the local coffee houses as well as looking for places to play, and hoping to work on a demo. Russell is trying to record as many songs(just him on guitar)as he can during the long christmas break- before the end of his year (2004).

    NEWS!!!This just in!!!!

4th Day of the year after my year,.... how about, 4 day of the year of the Terremoto, nah, not another year of that stuff. January 4, 2005....!!!!!!! Sweet Euphoria! The Year of the Terremoto is in!! what a good year to find a drummer and break into the underground scene!!! a 5 number! a decade ago was when "Jesus Freak" was released! and Mxpx was just getting big! anyways...I've converted all songs from my record session tapes into cds and yes! We've got over 50 songs!!! It adds up to 5 full lenght albums (full length meaning an hour each...!)Amazing for one year!!! I just write long songs for some reason! For Christmas Russell was blessed with an acoustic electric ovation celebrity guitar and an awesome, big behrenger amp. He also got a little electric drumset. What a blessing from God! This will be a good year!! Perhaps a little more relaxed than 2004!!! God bless this year and us!!!

366th Day of the year! Last day of my Year!!!New Year's Eve!!! I just wanted to say hey! Hey!!! and do a quick synopsis(?- what does that mean?) of our unrecorded progress so far...:

  • Over Christmas break- as of a few minutes ago- Russell recorded 10 more songs!!!! meaning that over all, Russell has recorded from 40+-50 songs!!!Very possibly 50!!! Which , although they are cheap and simplified versions-most of them- and are only guitar for most of them(a few have vocals, bass, and attempted drums), is quite an achievement for a band or one guy in a year or a little more (counting the earlier 2 months of Russell's love for punk's birth). What a year! It's the year that Russell pretty much got into punk music and started writing music for the Loose GrunjPunkins. Russell saw MxPx live for the first time in DC (the same day 40 years ago that the beatles first came to America and played!). Russell and Jordan turned 18. He met Jordan and formed Terremoto of the Quietones. They went to Liberty and started practicing and working up songs, where they met Kim Rash who became their drummer! They played their first show before November 1st! Kim Rash stopped being the drummer. Russell wrote a ton of music material for Loose GrunjPunkins and Terremoto of the Quietones, and established(layed out) about 10+ albums and eps. Jordan started playing bass and wrote a few songs. Russell witnessed to his first person and got his first job. Russell recorded 50 songs worth of music including the first ep/compilation: The Pandaemonium Ep. ETC

May God use all of our music material to accomplish His will and fulfill His plan for our lives. May all the ones we love be given whatever they need to be saved, and may it be through us and our music, that they would believe in Jesus' sacrifice and be saved. May God send His spirit into all of our music, that when anyone ever hears our music they are divinely attracted to our music and us and thus to God, that they might be saved. Amen in Jesus' name. Next time I see you it will be 2005!! The year Terremoto of the Quietones finds our new best friend forever and drummer, gets on the map, and makes a nice album!!!!

As of 6:06 pm on the 339th day of the year, Terremoto of the Quietones is drummerless. This is a blessing because that means it wasn't meant to be and that was taken care of before we did anything big. Kim says he has to get a job, so we're on the lookout for another drummer- The Ideal Drummer!!! Dave Roach, fellow LoCoer and my Cousin Mike's friend, might become our temporary drummer while we're trying to find The One. God's will be done! Thank God! My eternal gratitude goes forth to you Kim, as you have answered my prayers! Because of you our band got to play our first show before November 1st and fulfill my prayer and goal of playing a show before a year had gone by since I "started" this band! [also, (345th today 12:26 am- Liberty time)Jordan's bass is fixed. We found it was his bass messing up, not his amp and he was going to get a squier bass when we discovered Jordan's bass had a battery in it... tha's weird! So we replaced the battery and it works! Whatever... we actually replaced it ...I guess a week or two ago.]

306(314)-It's been a year since Mike brought Let it Happen to Russ's house and inspired him to write punk music and be in a punk band!!! The weekend before this, Russell spent the whole time at Liberty recording new stuff never recorded and old stuff(remixes and with vocals this time). He also finished up writing for the Calibretto 13 and Autumn tribute album, "Midnight Autumn Moons". On Halloween Eve he wrote the song about "The Death of Calibretto"(who was dying that very instant in Kokomo) and recorded it a few minutes later when it was technically Halloween.

297- The Infamous first show ever of Terremoto of the Quiet Ones!!!!!!!! They played 4 songs(GxPx, Simple-Minded Hypocrites, Days & Nights, and Chick Magnet) in their 15 minute slot- playing in the middle of 2 sets by 99 + 1.

October 5th- Russell plays solo his GrunjPunkin junx at the Drowsy Poet local Coffee Shop, for Open Mic Night.

256-As of yesterday, September the 11th(255th)- Kim brought his drums over to J and R's dorm room-222- and set them up. As of about 1 oclock or so, they began the terremoto of the quietones and had their first practice session, for about an hour. Very successful, almost perfect, but no vocals yet. Kim fit right in with the Jo and Russ, did very well with the songs they'd practice so many times. Terremoto of the Quietones (AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!)practiced GXPX like 20 times, and tried Days and Nights, and just had fun jamming out. Jordan's bass amp is broken we think, and Russell's guitar amp is kindof broken sometimes. Kim brought his drums to Lynchburg and set them up by Monday the 250th, very coincidental in that it was 100 days since Jordan and Russell's first band practice. God is working the dates.
