THE BAND

Band Bio

Revelation first formed in mid March of 2003. At the time, the original members Robert, Aaron, George, and Brett called themselves Acirema but the band never worked out and broke up after 2 months. Aaron knew Brett from playing with him in a jazz band for 3 years and asked him to form a new metal band. Kyle came into the picture when Aaron heard him singing to a CD and asked him to do the vocals for the Revelation. The band never had a guitar player until Kyle’s cousin started playing. They asked Drew to play, but Drew ended up not working out and left the group. Mike came in around November and is now Revolt's guitarist.

The band's first song "Crumbling" is about the member's lives in a crazy world. After "Crumbling" came "Outbreak," and then "Darkness Falls." Revelation's style combines nu-metal, with metal, and punk grooves. The band combines aspects of bands like the intricate and bass driven Mudvayne, the fast and craziness of System of a Down, the heaviness of Slipknot, the tones of Chevelle, and emotion of Staind.

The band's first demo is due out sometime this January and will hopefully include 5 songs.

Aaron Johnson: Bass/Vocals

Aaron started the bass in the mid fourth grade playing first the upright bass in the school orchestras. He got his first electric bass in 5th grade from his mom’s friend for 100 bucks. He immediately fell in love with the instrument. He took lessons and always loving metal started his first metal band called Acid 112 the band being together for 2 years cutting a demo then having a bitter split. In 6th grade Aaron joined jazz band for the schools and an all city jazz ensemble for 3 years. Learning technique, theory and jazz movements. Aaron started taking more lessons with a teacher that introduced him to rock slap, tap, and incorporating good lines in heavy music. Falling in love the Mudvayne bass style and sound Aaron finally knew what type of metal sound he wanted to be in. He then started the band with the three original members (Kyle, Brett, Aaron) calling themselves Splinter and then moving on to Revolt against the SuN.

Aaron thanks his family for the musical support and helping him to get into music. To my cousin mark for showing me the world of metal and music. To all my friends my originals band Acid 112 and to my girlfriend whom I love and to the band for helping me live the dream. KEEP THOSE HORNS UP!!!

Brett taking private lessons and striving him self forward in rock music by practicing and learning material and theory. Aaron first heard Brett play at Jazz Band tryouts soon asking him to be in a band. Brett has a lot of hard-core rock, old rock, and punk influences that he uses to create his own style. Brett is also a rapper and his rhymes come straight of the crapper, he wrote em down on the toilet seat and made some fat beats.

Drew Thompson: Guitars

Drew started playing in 2002 and started taking lessons soon after. Drew advanced quickly and mainly learning tuned down metal like Slayer, Metallica, BLS, Pantera and of course Ozzy and Sabbath. Drew met Aaron through Kyle and after hearing his great and natural talent and style asked Drew to join. Drew left for a while then returned to bring Revelation its crunch. Not only is Drew into metal but also likes oldies like Hendrix, Zepplin, and Pink Floyd. Drew gives the band its metal crunch in the background and keeps the main riffs and choruses their intense heavy sound. Although there is no lead or rhythm in the band both guitarist feed off each other to give it their equally heavy sound.

Drew uses B.C. Rich Warlock and Carvin amps. He runs a Boss Mutli Effect pedal mainly on heavy chorus and grunge distortion.

Drew thanks: his friends, and the band for supporting him and inviting him into the band. He thanks his guitar teacher for showing him all those metal songs that got him to where he is. And last his parents for putting up with his basement noise.

Kyle Witt: Vocals

Kyle joined the band with barely any experience. Aaron heard him singing to CDs around his house in the car and singing to them and matching the singer’s tones, screams, and voices. Singers from Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Korn, and Staind influence Kyle and his love and strive for music. Kyle’s experiences with music started young when his Dad (his dad being the bands technician and manager) had a band so Kyle was very exposed to music his whole life. Kyle’s passion for rock started early and joining this band allowed him to let loose his natural talent of singing, and he adds the heart and emotion behind Revolt.

Kyle would like to thank first his dad for being there and loving him and being behind him this whole time. He thanks his friends and other family. He thanks girls and gives a shout out to "all the pretty ladies." He also thanks the band and says lets rock. Kyle uses Carvin and Samsung mics and Carvin monitors.
