Dear Comrades, You might be asking why is this important to us? Well, there are a great many reasons on different levels, but please spare me a moment to explain why its important for all of us, atleast on an individual bases. As American citizens, we should feel exceptionally grateful to possess the quality of life and freedoms that we do right now. The right to free speech, religion, fair trial and equality were forged by our founders who died and risked their lives for the princples of liberty, democracy and justice, who's system is based on the check and balances of powers and who's first leader proclaimed himself not to be a king, but a president. America, was for the people. These rights should be treasured and used so that they will not be taken away. There is a reason they were given to us. The founders of the country envisioned a better world, free of tyranny and oppression. The nation's principle of limited government and checks and balances were laid on the grounds that when too much power aggregates into the hands of a few, it is destined to corrupt. The freedom of the individual, the market and democracy vested into the people of America were for the people, but based on belief that the people will know how to govern themselves. Yet we have grown numb and fleshy from the few years of festering in our liberties and luxuries. The frenzied mass of thousands screaming infront of TRL, swarming in shopping districts, rioting after a heated sports event, or just sitting infront of the television all day has congealed itself into a torpid beast, unaware of its organs being corroded and chiseled away. The cost of this war is compensating our freedoms, our social and economic welfare and our security, leaving us and future generations to pay the cost. It also pronouces loudly enough that the administration shows no regard for the life of humans, children and living beings, that their objective is always favoring that of the corporate agenda, and that lies and deceives the public can not be trusted. Established and ruling powers should be contained and closely examined or soon we will be the object of scrutiny and control. "Deal with reality or reality will deal with you" Oh, but what is a little bit of liberties, jobs, security and our future chiseled away going to do? Little by little...That is how the animals a novel inspired by the communist revolution called Animal Farm, became slaves to the very leaders that helped established the once utopian state. By their own wills, they allowed it to transform into a cruel totalitarian dictatorship. No one stood up to question or give much thought to small changes. The chilling state of complete control envisioned in Orwell's novel, 1984 was tolerated by the public who had long forgotten whether life was "better" before because it had all happened gradually, over many years of careful assimilation and conditioning. What happens when you place a frog in boiling water? It leaps out of the pot immediately. But what happens if you place it in water and turned the heat up little by little? It will stay inside until it starts to cook. |
