Leighann's Story

I have so many Plank stories that I couldn't share them all right here without taking up all of the room on the site, so I decided to write about one of the things I love the most about Plank 63. How amazingly nice, sweet, and humble these guys are. This was completley revealed to me from the first day I met them , and continues to show every show I go to, and everytime we talk. I remember one time I wrote the guys an email thanking them for all they have done for me and Jim emailed me back and said something along the lines of how I have always been way too kind to him and the band and that having someone get the same satisfaction from their music as they get playing it was a very fulfilling side effect. Now I KNOW that I am not the only fan who feels that way and the fact that Jim took the time to write me such a nice email in response meant the world to me. Plank 63 is getting more and more exposure all over the world thanks to garageband.com and they still manage to stay the same. I remember talking to Cam at the April 30th show at Goodtimes about how Patchwork is still # 3 on garageband and he looked at me with this "I know I can't believe it either" look in his eyes, as he told me that it was breaking all kinds of records and that he is so happy it's getting such a huge response.I will never forget the look in his eyes when he swas talking about it. Also that night they played Singe for the first time in a long while and Cameron kept telling my friend Michele to show off her Plank tat which is of their logo with Singe lyrics underneath it and you could tell Cameron loves that tattoo and Michele for having so much passion for the band to get a tat of theirs. Another form of humbleness is when the crowd sings back to Cameron, and the way his face lights up like a Christmas tree every single time. These guys love their fans and it shows. I wrote Donnie and email telling him how much I love guitar and in paticular his style and asked him for lessons, and he emailed me back and seemed very flattered. The guys just take time out to talk to you after a show and any true fan/friend will tell you that it is just so awesome the way these guys are. "There are bands you like, bands you love, and bands that become a part of you." That quote was on the Plank site awhile back and it rings very true for me. These guys have a place etched in my soul.

Ashley's Story

Wow, this is is the first thing I've ever contributed to the site in all the months that I have been the webmistress. Well, here goes nothing.
Friday night(November 5th) was the Plank show in Leominster. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it out to the show because I had made plans with some friends. However, before I left, I asked Leighann to send the guys my love. Little did I know, I'd be the one to send it. Sometime after I had gotten home, I fell asleep watching TV in my living room. Around 12:30am, my cell phone rang and woke me up. Of course I had no idea where it was, so I spent five minutes rooting around for it. I finally found it and answered it, only to find out that it was Leighann. Excitedly, she told me that our names were in the liner notes of the new album(You really didn't have to do that, guys). I almost fell down. A couple minutes into the conversation, she put someone on the phone. It was Ara. We talked for a couple minutes. He gave me shit about not updating his answers to the Ask Plank questions and then he turned around and gave Leighann shit for waking me up. It was a good time. We said our goodbyes and he put Leighann back on the phone so he could finish loading the gear. Leighann and I talked for a couple more minutes before she shoved the phone in Cameron's face. He had no idea it was me. When I told him, he sounded excited to get a chance to talk to me. Leighann later informed me that his face lit up. I was just happy that he knew who it was right away. We talked for a couple minutes. Most of the conversation was Cam giving me shit for not coming out to a show. When I explained it was because they were all too far away, he asked if I wanted them to come play a show at my house. (OF COURSE!) He was also jealous of me because I had been asleep and he wanted to sleep. So then I had to give him shit for not answering the Ask Plank questions. He told me that at one point he did, but he had to delete the answers because they were "interesting". He was loaded when he answered them. So I told him I would come to a show and got more shit because I wasn't showing enough love with my enthusiasm. LOL. It was funny. Cameron then had to go because he was cold, so we said goodbye. It was definitely fun talking to Ara and Cam. They are really too sweet to have taken time out of their night to talk to me. I love you guys!
