Koger House Historical Marker Dedication

On December 7, 2003 Generals Gordon-Capers Camp #123 dedicated an historical marker in front of what is believed to be the oldest house still standing in Dorchester County. Speakers included members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the newly formed Upper Dorchester County Historical Society, and Rep. George Baily. During the dedication it was announced that current owners Fitzhugh and Martha Sweatman will be donating the house to the Historical Society for restoration and preservation.
