Park Plaza Players' musical comedy to run

The Park Plaza Playhouse in Monrovia will celebrate the first play in the groups new theatre with a champagne opening og 'The Boyfriend' on Friday August 18, 1978.The musical comedy by Sandy Wilson will be shown at PPP's new location at 110 East Colorado Blvd., Monrovia, California.

Directed by Nocolette Harvey, the musicalfeatures many songs and dances of the Roaring Twenties. It takes place on the French Riviera at a girls finishing school, where the students main objective is to get a boyfriend. Some of the main charaters in the play are Debra Louise Jones as a French maid; John Armetta as Percival Brown; Eulalie Arnetta as Lady Brockhurst; Barbara Zube as Dulcie, and a newcomer , Baron De Beer, as Lord Brockhurst.

The play will run each Friday and Saturday night through September 9, with curtain time at 8:30pm. Two matinees will be offered. One on Sunday, August 27, the other on Sunday, September 3, with curtain time at 2:30 p.m.
The Champagne Grand Opening is $3.50 per person, reservations only. All other shows are $3.00, with special rates for students and senior citizens. Reservations may be made by calling 355-2245.
