Welcome to the small, insignificant portion of my world which focuses
solely on... me. Sounds rather narcissistic, doesn't it? Anyhoos, because
I was bored and had nothing to do (read: didn't feel like working on any
of the existing pages run by yours truly) I figured I might as well let the
real world, or at least the people who visit this site on a consistent basis,
know who I am.
My name actually is Becka. Rebecca, if you'd like to get technical
about it, but no one calls me that. It's entirely too formal, too stuffy,
and just plain old-fashioned. I live in Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia -
so if you live in the area, drop me an e-mail.

Before I started writing, I loved to read. Books, magazines, fanfic,
whatever. When I was just a wee little babe, I hated it with a passion, but
my father bribed me with things that seemed really important to a tyke, though
I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Toys, maybe? Who knows what
a child considers important except the child. Anyway, once I trucked my way
through my first Bernstein Bears book, I knew it was love.

Truth" series, Robin Hobb's "Assassin Trilogy," J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter"
series, anything by Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Survivor,
Choke), anything by Robin McKinley (The Hero and the Crown, The Blue Sword,
and Deerskin especially), and the "Heralds of Valdemar" books by Mercedes
Lackey.

Writing

My fascination with writing started in 5th grade when my teacher gave
me my very first creative writing assignment: keep up a poetry/story journal
for English class. The fact that I can actually remember that is rather
disturbing... anyhoos, I started then and haven't stopped since. I'm endeavoring
to sit down and write one of several books that's teasing the corners of
my brain, but inevitably I wind up with a piece of fanfic instead. Who knows?
Maybe someday I'll actually get around to it (read: or not).

The other love of my life - RPGs. I remember my first Nintendo and
the original Zelda. I've followed the systems through the years, and have
to say Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night,
Vagrant Story, and all of the Breath of Fires are my favorites.

I'll listen to just about anything. Give me Mudvayne or Slipknot,
the Chilly Peppers or Live, Rob Zombie, Staind, Taproot, Eminem, Guano Apes,
Silverchair, Iron Maiden - I love it all!
