The Donor Car: Can be any VW Bug, but you need to know that there are a few differences. The older bugs had swing axle type rear ends. The newer ones, from '69 on had IRS (independent rear suspension). Most will tell you that IRS makes the best riding Trikes, but its not that big a deal. Use what you can get. Also there are a few out there that have a auto stick transmission. These make very nice Trikes but the have some special needs. As long as you have a good running complete car to start with, you should not have a problem. Ok lets take a look at how to extract the parts of the bug we need to build our Trike.
