CONSPIRACY CENTRAL
Behind the walls of the "Instant Message"

Submitted by Kelly

Okay, well I'm sure that many of you have AOL or AIM. Whatever you use to communicate with the outside world, these grouped letters may look familiar: lol, omg, ttyl, lylas, etc. Well, behind these ridiculous things lies a mystery. Sure, not many people want to type out the full "oh my god" or "talk to you later," but I'm proposing that whoever you're talking to probably just doesn't care. I'm not guaranteeing this, but how often do you say 50 million things, and the person you're talking to replies 10 minutes later with a measly "lol" or even just "ok"? The conspiracy behind this is that when you are talking to someone online and it takes them about 10 minutes to say somethings o rudimentary, so mind-numbingly basic, they probably aren’t reading anything you’ve said. In conclusion, the next time you're talking to a "friend" online and you think that, just maybe, they are not giving you enough attention. Say something serious (example being, "Oh, my dog died," or whatever you want it to be) and see what they say, if they say "I'm sorry" or act the least bit interested then perhaps when they weren't talking to you, they were simply doing something else. If they say "lol," "ok," or the dreaded "o," then you know something is up.

I hate when people are so mindless.
