The Hemsby 40 Review
Its been a few years since I ve been to the last Hemsby, and alot has changed. As alot of you know its is on a different site. And this is its third time at the knew venue. The first thing you will notice is the halls seems bigger and it all looks alot better. The reception is a small area and if it was busy, I am not very sure where the line would go. This is connected to the Trafalgar hall. This then branches of into lots of different parts, to the right you have Trafalgar suite(where the bar is, and a seating area) with a huge snooker hall to right of that. this place is very big compared to the old Hemsby.
And thats enough about the venue, the event its self had a great line up witn acts like Sonny Burgess, The original Blue Cats, Carlos and the Bandidos, Levi Dexter and many more. We arrived on the Thursday, and its cost only £18.00pp. But I did notice that in October it has gone up to £20.00pp. On the money side of things it still works out at £134.00pp for 3 days in a self catering chalet. I was abit confused to see they was charging a extra £5.50 to go the cocktail party in a event you have already payed for, that was abit greedy.
Sonny Burgess shown above, was my favourite act of the weekend. Still sounding great he played lots of his original sun titles. Then you had Carlos and the Bandidos and they always play and great set.
It was a shame to see the talent show canceled, thats can be a very entertaining to watch. But apart from that, we had a great time. The music was great, with a top line up. The DJs played great sets, some new tracks could have be added to their sets, but still good all around.
The market place had a great selection of clothes and CDs, the boot sale on the sunday was also very good. With lots of Rockin items for sell. And there you have the short Hemsby 40 review.

Value for Money
Its still cheaper than some weekenders, but charging £5.50 for a cocktail party was not necessary. |
