Who are eccles skate
project?
Eccles sk8board project, is a community youth project which aims to bring skaters from around the Eccles area together,
under a common goal of trying to achieve the building of a skate park, designed for skaters with the ideas put forward by skaters.
This from examples of other projects around the world is the most successful method of providing a popular functional park, as
skaters are the people who know what makes a good safe park, as they are the ones that use them, not members of a city council
who (although i may be wrong) have probably never been on a skateboard, let alone used a skate park, and as a result, many so
called 'parks' built by local authorities become vandalised unused eye sores, as they are usually not very well thought out with little
or no consultation with the people who are going to use them.
This is why ESP actively consult its members on a regular basis through meetings and scheduled outings, which also act to
create a community spirit within the members.
Because we are a community project we are desperately in need of outside funding, for all manner of things from materials to build ramps with to safety equipment to first aid training.
