| Well, I don't have as much free time as I used to
(trust me, I had WAY too much free time on my hands), but I still
try to make time for some things. I love to read science fiction,
like the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke's Rama
series and the books of Dune by Frank Herbert. I also read this
series called The Keltiad from Patricia Kennealy based on Celtic
myth and culture with a bit of science fiction tossed in. |
| I must admit, I am totally stuck on Lord of the
Rings. It's sad, really. But J.R.R. Tolkien was a genius! I mean,
who creates new languages in their free time, complete with all the
lettering, syntax, and pronunciation. Wow. I also read Catch-22, and that is one bizarre book. I didn't realize until halfway through the book that there it's written with a reversed timeline. It's starts at the end and ends with the beginning. Very bizarre. I hated it, but I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know what the hell was going to happen. Odd book. |
| I read other stuff too, like Hawaii by James Michener
and random books I find in the library. I got this awesome book on
discard from the school library that was in perfect condition. My
guess is that no one wanted to read it. I can see why. The darn
thing is about two and a half inches thick and it's about the
history of England. It's called Sarum. But it's really cool! Stop looking at me like
that, it's not nice. Lately I've been reading my sister's pre-teen books. They're actually pretty funny! My current favorite is the series 'Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging: Confessions of Georgia Nicholson' by Louise Rennison. They're bloody brilliant, and set in England. Ridiculously funny. |
