b a n d s omni-desideratum : three-piece from sarasota, fl. broken up since 2001, they were a great band that could play anything. their music can swing from hardcore to jazz in seconds, leaving you wondering what type of song you just listened to. they split up after kyle went off to college and jake going into the air force. jake, miss you. crooked halo : a three-piece from metuchen/woodbridge, new jersey. playing their music with a passion, influenced by early thursday and driven by emotions, crooked halo were an incredible indie/(emo?) band. unfortunately, they played their last show in the summer of 2002. only five of their songs were recorded, their last songs were amazing but never made it to the studio.   :( dear diary : Well, i guess i should start off by saying they broke up too. dear diary was a five-piece from the sarasota, fl area. powerful music in the likes of twelve hour turn, four hundred years, and similar bands. they were one of the best bands to come out of the area. chad is now in a new band (the color of violence), a crazy grindcore band, and evan is now in an 'old school hardcore' band. word. reaching for comfort : a solo project from jesse of crooked halo. continuing where he left off with his old band, but deeper, more intense songs, but this time in the acoustic style. beautiful guitar work as well as some percussion. projected through glass : a solo project from edison, nj. emotive hardcore influenced by a days refrain, the postage era, the assistant, usurp synapse, etc. the omaha connection : originally a two-piece grind/noise band from ca, jon moved and is working on his own songs in seattle. i have yet to hear the omaha connection since he moved, but he's been busy and unfortunately cannot record until summer. my love for the sky : out of nj and pa, mlfts is an emotionally driven screamy band in the likes of saetia, love lost but not forgotten, circle takes the square, and more. haunted spaceship : ex- omaha connection, haunted spaceship is an erie, noisy two piece that were told sound "like aliens attacking" when they play live... i think that says enough. redline drive : good emo-punk sorta stuff out of central jersey. emo is such an overused word but i guess thats the easiest way to describe them. nice instrument work and well written songs. |
