I am Timmy Lynn Hester, the state-witness in the Houston Capital Rape Case.
I was forced to testify against officer Cameron Todd, Tony Sparks, my ex-girlfriend Poela Kelly, and my brother, Jimmy"Jack"Hester, about their alleged involvement in a case that police described as a "child prostitution ring".
For nearly four months, I was incarcerated in the Chickasaw County jail in Houston, Mississippi, held under a $50,000 property bond(the same bond that was imposed on those charged with rape).
When I finally posted bond I had an interview with the Times-Post and made them aware that they had made a terrible mistake, because I was never charged with Rape. Following several searches of court documents and affidavits, the Times-Post realized that I was right, but District Attorney Jim Hood had to work me into the folds somehow; so, he and Sheriff Jimmy Simmons announced to all local media that I was the "main star witness"in the rape case.
I never wished to testify against Cameron Todd or anybody to help the state get the convictions they needed. I think the system is corrupt and only focuses on destroying innocent people's lives and putting money into their pockets. I believe that these charges against everyone is unfair to all of them.
Members of the Houston Police Department were scared that Cameron Todd might expose them for their involvement in drug distribution and several other illegal operations; the Department of Human Services (DHS) wanted Todd out of the way because he was protecting the rights of families with children; and to top all of that off, DHS worker Pammie Davidson was married to Houston Police officer Tim Davidson who, at the time, was competing against Cameron Todd for a job with the state police. My brother, Jimmy"Jack"Hester, is currently incarcerated, like Cameron Todd, for a crime that he did not commit– the act of rape. I've been around Cameron off & on from time to time and he has been around children of all ages teaching self defense techniques and safety classes, and I've grown up with my brother. Jack has done some crazy law breaking acts in his days but— raping a child? Ain't no way he or Cameron is capable of any such.
