Writer's Inspiration
If I were a poet
I'd kidnap you.
Tuck you away on my highest shelf
bound with love and desire,
hidden from all but myself.
Hold you in my arms each night,
a passage to the inward fire
composed of your beauty and passionate eyes,
your smile my exclamation mark.
Recite roses, unheard sighs
and sonnets to caress you my love.
Bathe you in lyric from the heart,
"God bless" for each haiku.
Dry your tears in silhouettes of
a soft, fuzzy couplet for two.
