Recovery

Imagine mighty Atlas
shouldering his earthly orb,
and straining to maintain
all his muscles can absorb.
So it is the child,
bent with agonizing pain,
who closes off all feelings
but suffers just the same.
Wandering in the darkness,
eyes blinded to the light,
naked in a snowstorm,
through a cold and windy night.
The planet's spinning wildly
in the heaviness of time,
until the dawn of insight
brings a changing paradigm.
The psychic sun arises,
melting frozen years,
and the world resumes its orbit,
no longer bound by fears.
