understanding the misunderstood

well, if you're misunderstood, you can't be understood, can you? or are you only misunderstood because it's the rest of the world that's gone wrong? who cares?

i surely don't.

in my opinion, no one can be understood. it's so incredibly hard for a person to come to an understanding with themselves, much less begin to figure out other people. yeah, there are those instances where you might feel like one with another person, but in reality, you're not. a true person is a complex, intricate working of a human being... if a person can be figured out in a life time by any other one person, they're not of the substance they originally thought.

you see, in a way, we all need that little bit of misunderstanding, because we need something we can call our own. that misunderstanding is a constant privacy, property that is ours and no one else's. and as for the misunderstood in the world, it's not worth wasting time on worrying about being understood by the rest of the world.

it's acceptance among the misunderstood, rather, that gives us that balance we need. when you don't expect to be understood, but you do accept people no matter who they are, you're paying a much greater debt to the world with your lack of discrimination. if you accept the fact that understanding isn't imperative to life and you love the other misunderstood around you for the circumstances that made them misunderstood in the first place, you're establishing the basis of understanding.. which is.. well, acceptance.

anyway, if you're understood, it means everything you have to say has already been said, and understood, before. who wants that?
