it's just that i hear so many people going into high school who say that they want to be popular and famous and known. but wouldn't that leave you.. empty? popularity should be something that comes just as a twist of fate... if you're only popular and well known because you worked for it, it's not saying you're loved... it's saying you're annoying enough to be remembered. and what if you compared yourself to the person who was loved by chance... it happened to them without their working for it, which means people volunteered to name them popular, while you worked for your popularity and people know who you are and love you because you made them. which says more?
i'm proud of my current social status.. at least i know that the friends i have a truly friends and that i'm unpopular because i'm truly unpopular. and popularity has become a label in today's world... people establish themselves in these labels rather than being nominated by other people. as you know, labels aren't my thing, especially those that stereotype me into a gorgeous blond, blue-eyed tan-skinned varsity cheerleader/bitter homecoming runner up. then again, i don't really like stereotypes either...
