What is the life of a hero without a horse? Really, it's not much, unless the hero enjoys walking everywhere. A hero needs a companion on the open road, someone, or something, to talk to and, besides, a horse can carry everything you don't want to. The Fellowship Undomiel traveled with the company of horses for most of their journies. They loved the horses and held them in very high regard, treating them as equals, rather then pack animals. They loved their horses and were very sad when they had to leave them in the pastures as stud animals, riding their sons and daughters to distanct lands instead of the steeds they had grown to trust over the years.
