The fact that Krune was raised by the Elves of Rivendell does not mean that he grew to be a nice person. He was actually angery with the world and left Rivendell early to seek his own people. He roamed the woods and the lands of Middle Earth, not staying in one spot long enough to make any lasting friendships. He did, however, stay in his home of Dale, under an assumed name, to fall in love with a woman four years his junior. He was 20 at the time, Deinia was 16. He left for months at a time and would return every once in a while to profess his love to the young woman and then he would disappear into the wild for several more months. It was not until Deinia fell gravely ill that Krune came back for months to care for her. He helped nurse her back to health and married her in the orange light of a sunset one midsummer's eve.
Krune would leave for weeks, but he would always return to his wife to show he still cared. She soon bore him a daughter. This upset him, slightly, for he wanted a son. After his daughter was born, Krune would wander for longer lengths of time and would often visit the Shire. It was there that he re-met the Half-Elf Tenelia. He grew infatuated with her and could not keep the young Elf off of his mind. Over the next ten years Krune could not keep his sights off of Tenelia. He grew insanely jealous of the attention she was giving to his brother and the hate she expressed against him. He did not bother to think about the night he re-introduced himself to her, it was not a pleasant experiance for the battle-hardened, yet innocent child he had thrown to the floor.
The year Krune took the throne of Dale, eight years after his son had been born and four years after his wife had been murdered by a crazed Elf, Krune sent a notice that the King of Dale wanted to meet with Tenelia and her two companions. This would be a grave mistake on the part of Tenelia, Devash and Noonishki. They would be taken into the castle and would have to escape with the help of Rikland. Because of Krune and his desires, a rift had grown between Men and Elves and Edan thar Edhel (Men against Elf) began.
There was but one battle of Edan thar Edhel. Many Men and Elves gave their life to win. The Elves fought for the Three and Fair Rivendell while the Men fought under Krune, their king and beloved rular. They fought in the forest above Rivendell where many graves still scatter the ground, marked and unmarked alike. It was in that forest Tenelia had the chance to triumph over her bitter enemy at last.
She had followed him through the trees, her Elven feet carrying her silently behind him. Krune didn't even know he was being followed until her was on the ground, a battle-crazed Tenelia on top. She had him stratled between her knees, a knife to his neck. Fear was in the eyes of the man she hated, fire in the eyes of the woman he had raped. Despite the oppertunity and position Tenelia was in, she found she could not kill the man beneath her in cold blood, but she could not let him go either. However, Krune, King of Dale, was killed by a stray arrow flying through the woods. The arrow aimed at Tenelia. Krune's dying words to Tenelia were: "Please, take care of my son."
The people of Dale grieved over the loss of their king and were being ruled over by Draike, Krune's right hand. In the meanwhile, Keane, the son of Krune and heir to the throne of dale, was taken from his home in Gondor and brought to Rivendell by Devash and the Messenger Basilartiena. There he grew in to a wise, weathered young man, but his is another story.
The Elves in Rivendell remained naive about the true fate of Krune for many a year. It was not until Kaene's thirteenth year did they come to learn that Krune was indeed alive and was now ruling over Dale once again. He had come back and was planning something against the Elves once again. His plans for further revenge, however, were put on hold when he met and married a woman of his city. Draike's eldest daughter, to be exact. She was reluctant to marry the king who was nearly twice her age, but she did it for the good of her kingdom. They met nearly twenty years after Krune's supposed death and she bore him another son, Doalin, two years later. Krune loved his new son dealy and Sonyt wished for this child to become king, but Krune would not allow it. Only Keane could take the throne.
