Kaiden was born after the death of his father to Basilartiena, the Messenger of Mirkwood. He was born in the years before Sauron's return and Frodo's tale of the One Ring. He was born when there were few Orcs in Mordor and when the race of Man had not yet risen from their despair. He was born in the peaceful years before the tale of Bilbo and Smaug and before Dale had risen from the ashes. He was born in the forest Mirkwood, home to the Wood Elves, the fair folk. He was one of them with his pale bronze hair and deep, wise green eyes. He was one of the fair folk, the ones destined to see all ages of the world.
However, because of his mother's demanding position, Kaiden grew up in the care of other Elves and rarely saw his mother, let alone get to really know her. He even found, as he grew older, a deep resentment for her, even though his love of her was deep. He did not know what feeling to trust and show and which to hide.
When Kaiden was still young, the War of the Ring tore through Middle Earth and it was time for the Elves to leave, the Age of Men had started. Kaiden was ready to travel across the Seas but, to his despair, his mother was not. He could not leave her side, but he could not live in Mirkwood any longer. However, when he learned of the siblings he had, both of Lord Elladan, Elrond's son, the resentment he had smouthered flared again for his mother and he left. Basilartiena was sure her first born had left for the Havens and did not go in search of him.
While on his way to the seashore, for Kaiden did have the intentions to sail for Valinor, his heart wenched and he could not leave these lands. He turned north and there he stayed for many thousands of years. He lived in the Iron Hills among the witches, though they were not aware of his presance. It was here Kaiden happened upon the pathetic forn of Bailey, a lost and confused Half-Elf hailing for Rohan. He nursed her back to health and in doing so, he fell deeply in love. She returned his love and soon bore him a son, Fyen. It was the first time in a long, long time that Kaiden could turely say he was happy. The joy in Kaiden's heart soon turned to despair when the witches finally caught up with him. He barely escaped with his life and lost those of Bailey and their son. Depressed, Kaiden travelled south, to the forests above Rivendell. There, he found a tree in which to live and started a new ife.
Kaiden's move was in the years of Noonishki, Devash and Tenelia. In the time of the Three. It was when their children were still young and playing among the trees, the rocks and the river. He watched over them, unaware of the Gryffin that watched over him. He stayed in these forests until Aluthiana, an old friend of his, took him to Mirkwood once more and through Middle Earth. He did not return to Rivendell for another twenty years when the children were grown.
When he returned, he was injured and did not have Aluthiana to heal him for she was far away and did not know of his injuries. He decided to go back to the tree he had once occupied and was surprised to find a young, female Elf asleep in the small house he had once occupied. She woke upon his arrival and looked up at the battered, hansome Elf before her. It was love at first sight. In the first couple of moments, there were no sounds. Not a breath, not a whisper, not even the cry of wind. The first words cam from her mouth. "This must be your house," she whispered in her soft, quiet voice. Kaiden nodded and asked for her name. When she answered, he caught his breath and took a step back. This was Deirdre Kaialin, daughter to the Hero Tenelia and the child he had once watched over. Now, Kaiden and Deirdre keep their love a secret, Deirdre stealing into the forest to visit the Elf she loves.
