Height - 1.9 m After his mother was murdered, Kaene and his older sister, Deyla, were sent to Gondor to be put under the protection of their mother's brother, King Aefien of Gondor. There they grew and learned until the day two Elves from the North came to claim the young Prince. He was eight and did not understand. King Aefien let his young charge go, reluctantly, and kept Deyla at his side. Deyla did not want her brother to go, but she was old enough to understand that it was for the best. So it came to be that the young Crowned Prince of Dale grew up in Rivendell. He grew amoung the Elves and they grew around him. When he arrived, he was the only full human. There were half Elves, yes, but no humans. The other Elves were still young, Lalaith being the oldest. She was two years older than Kaene and nearly ten years older than the rest of the children. She was the only one even remotely his age, but she wouldn't talk to him. She felt as if she was far better than the little human boy and would not spare even a glance at him. This just attracted the young boy even more and soon, he fell for the Elf who wouldn't even speak to him. He kept his love a secret, but he wasn't very good and almost everyone knew, everyone but Lalaith. She hadn't a clue. As Kaene grew, people started to notice similarities between his father and him. For one, he looked almost exactly like his father, just younger and more attractive. Also, if he wanted something, he wouldn't stop until he got it. Sometimes it took a awahile, but he didn't care. If he got what he wanted, he was happy. Soon enough, he had nearly everything he could want. Everything but one thing. Lalaith. That was the only thing he had left to get, but he wasn't sure if he ever would. She still would not spare him a word or a glance. He still loved the beautiful, young Elf with all his heart, but he was starting to doubt if he would ever be to her what she was to him. By the time Kaene was eighteen, he couldn't take Rivendell andy longer, so he left. He took his horse and most of his possesions and joined the Rangers, leaving his home and everyone he loved and knew behind. He left at the same age his father had left Rivendell. Kaene show his face in Rivendell for many years. He only came back once to see off the Three as they left for Valinor, but even then, he left early the next morning to continue his roaming. He could not stay in one spot. He travelled far South to visit his Uncle in Gondor and the young cousin he had there, Laurlin. She was the only Heir of the King and would one day become Queen of the great city of Minas Tirith. He would also visit his other Uncle, the brother of his father, in Rohan. He was the husband of the Queen of that fair land of horses. There, Kaene would play with his young cousins and help in teaching them to ride. He also attended his father's wedding up North in Dale, his land. His father married the eldest daughter of his closest advisor. Her name was Sonyet. She was half Krune age and did not seem happy about the marraige, but Krune did. He loved this blonde woman with all his heart and promised her a grand life. He also gave her a son, Doalin. Sonyet wanted this young boy to be king, but Krune would not hear it. Only his eldest son, Kaene, could be king. When Kaene was thirty-three, he returned to Rivendell once more. He could not stand not seeing his beloved, Lalaith and had to lay his eyes upon her once more. He entered Rivendell and, much to his surprise, it was Lalaith who greeted him and welcomed him back to the House. It was mid-fall when he arrived and he stayed there for a much longer time than he had origanally planned. He took back his old room, left the way it had been the day he left and soon started up life again in Rivendell. Soon, Kaene found himself snowed in in Rivendell and unable to leave. It was that same day, a day of a terrible storm, that he had to rescue his younger "sister" and Lalaith. He found them huttled in a cave and quickly led them back to Rivendell. The next day, he enticed Lalaith out into the snow where they had a snow ball fight. It was also there he professed his love for her, and her love for him. This surprised the prince. Lalaith, the woman whom had loved for most of his life, the one who had ignored him for so long, loved him back. Kaene was in heaven. Kaene and Lalaith's romance became quite physical. They never took it to bed, no that was far to far, but they spent much of their days together. They would sit and talk, but hold hands or sit very close the whole time. They would often stay in one or the other's room and hold each other until late at night. Their love was true and deep. |
