Gitagovinda is the Gryphon and savior of Lady Tenelia Jae. She sang the healing song of her people to save the lady's life on several occasions and Tenelia, along with Tenelia's loved ones, are forever grateful to the large, black gryphon that makes Rivendell her home. Gita, as she is commenly known, had helped keep Rivendell safe on many an occasion and has helped keep the children of the Three safe from all that could harm them.
After a terrible accident that nearly took the life of Tenelia's young son, Cesare, Gita retreated into the woods that surrounded Rivendell, ashamed of herself and convinced that the Elves would no longer want her after her failure to keep the child out of harms way. However, Gita's leaving has brought grief to the hearts of many and if only she could know, she would return once more to Rivendell, the last Homely House.
Gita, though she does not enter Rivendell proper, has kept it safe from many creatures that tried to find their way in. She has kept a watchful eye on the home of her beloveds and now watches the Elf Kaiden as he roams the woods above Rivendell, watching the children as Gitagovinda, the great, black gryphon, does.
