LAZY
APPLE PIE
Ingredients:
(per pie)
| Frozen ready made pie
crust |
1 (Lazy
is the key word here) |
| Apples |
3 (whatever
kind you like best) |
| Dark Brown Sugar |
4
tablespoons (or whatever) |
| Raisins |
½ cup |
(plus 12 samplers for the
cook)
|
| Ground Cinnamon |
3,657,433
grains +/- 5 (hehehe) |
| Whipping Cream |
¼ pint (Fat
Mans best friend) |
| Ascorbic Acid |
1
tablespoon |
Preparation:
Peel, core and QUARTER the apples.
Soak for a few minutes in a bowl of cold water in which
the ascorbic acid has been stirred.
(we don't want brown apples)
Thaw the pie crust, poke the bottom with a fork a few
times.
(once I poked so hard I went right through the aluminium pan...sheesh what a mess)
Arrange the apple quarters around the periphery of the
crust, place any
left over pieces in the middle.
Sprinkle the raisins, cinnamon and sugar evenly over the
apples.
Pour the whipping cream over the whole thing.
Careful , not too full or it will boil over in the oven.
(Fat people have serious problems bending over to
clean ovens)
Cook for one hour at 325°F
Great
stuff!
Is
it any wonder I'm fat?
Like the
Crab Quiche, this is so simple, it is
best to make four or six at once.
They freeze well but they tend to sneak
out of the freezer rather quickly.
