-+----History of the Race----+-
Titan is simply a chimera. Through his body runs the mixed blood of angels and demons. A set of fangs capable of draining blood is nestled where his canines would be. They aren't used, however, and are an uncoverable extension of his demonic form. These two forms have different advantages and disadvantages. In his angelic form, he is no more powerful than a human. However, in demon form his strength grows tenfold. But the demons he decends from were slaves and pawns, lacking inhibitions and intellectual control, making them easily manipulated. Because of this, he prefers the angel form, despite it's disadvantages in fighting.
His Angel blood was from Angels that were primarily prefered as messengers and overseers and normally did not partake in battle. The demon side came from demon's who were primarily bred for fighting. They were mindless and emotionless, and could easily be controlled and magic was easily channeled through their body. Whenever Titan changes from Angel to Demon, which is only in battle, he loses control over his mind for the gift of power.
The origin of the first of his breed was linked to a female demon who overcame her mindlessness in the presence of her would-be-assassin. But before that fateful encounter, she led deadly warriors of her own kind behind her into war, where she slaughtered thousands of what was known as Common Lives. The Common Lives where much like Humans, and inhabbited a majority of the world at that time. They fought back with no success. Each time they killed one of the demons, a hundred of their men had already been slaughter. It wasn't long before the deity who oversaw the world caught word of this foul plot. The deity, a God of Wisdom, sent his angels down to give the Common Lives an advantage. A legion of Angelic Knights with two units full of Messenger Angels was sent down to tip the scales of war.
It was a clear night near a lake's side. The Demons and Common Lives had rallied up much of their forces to fight a determining battle between them. With the outcome of the battle obviously being more favored towards the demons, the Common Lives fought with little morale. Blood reflected from the lake and made the moon's white hues sanguine. Hope was lost, and erradication seemed enevitible.
When the Common Lives where ready to surrender and lose all life and freedom to the demons, a bright light flashed in the center of the sky and from it marched the legions of Angels. The Demons were slaughtered where they stood, before they even knew what was going on. When it became apparent what had happened, the Female Commander ordered a retreat, and the Demons fled from the battle. For years the fighting pressed on, Common Lives aided by the Angels. With their help the Common Lives learned how to build more efficient weaponry and command magic. Wisdom himself gave special powers to those who followed the Angel's teachings and labeled them as followers and acolytes.
The final battle between the warring forces was about to come to way on a fate filled night. The Legion of Demons and Angels had mustered all their forces on the ruins of a shattered Cathedral dating back to a time before new Gods and creatures where born, and the old had returned to the World. The Cathedral was a central site for magic and energy. Victory soon would come to one of the warring factions. A fierce battle took place, and in the end the Female Demon was left with a crippling wound that left her helpless. No longer able to combat, she fell to her knees.
The next part is strongly debated in all parts of the World, and many variations take place. One belief is that the Demon prayed on the foolish heart of the messenger Angel she came to bed, making him feel a false love from his sorrow for her. But this is the truth, what really happened:
Preparing the final blow, the Messenger Angel who had cornered her, readied his blade to cut her throat and kill her then and there. When his eyes came to focus, expecting too see eyes full of carnage and hate, his piercing gaze saw something else. Her eyes mourned for her fallen comrades, for her freedom and control, her body clearly ached from fighting she could not control, and the streaks of war was apparent on her face. The Angel was filled with so much compassion and sympathy he could not destroy her. He mourned for her soul, if demons could possess such a thing. She layed slumped before him, resigned with a readiness to die. She expected nothing else. But to her surprise the blade that was suppose to destroy her fell to her feet in front of her.
Neither dared to move. Finally, after a moment had passed, the demon slowly rose to her feet and looked the Angel straight in the eyes. The Angel tensed, not knowing what to expect. His arms slowly moved to her side and wrapped around her, and he enveloped her with his embrace. After a moment he stole away with her into the night. In 7 months, a child was born, and both the Angel and Demon was banished to the World along with all their kin who had followed their example. The Demons and Angels established a life together, and a whole new race.
But they did not live in peace or harmony. Their kind was seen as heathonous and foul. Only an order of monks accepted them, known as the Order of Khanti. Though the order was a high ranking social house, they could not stop the disdain many felt for the ones they provided solace to. To this day, the Chimera's as they're called are shunned by the ones they saved and slaughtered.
