The Story of Titan

The Past

Born into a world where his race was looked down upon, Titan would have been outcast by society at a young age if he wasn't kept busy indoors. In his younger years his father would train him, play with him, and take him to those like himself to learn how to interact with others. Meanwhile his mother would nuture and teach him in scholarly activities.

Titan futher bypassed the prejudices his race inevitably faced in their lifetime by boarding at the monastery of Khanti at the age of seven. The order of monks had gotten his father, Daemonhex, a position of power in the city of Taal Hual. But Daemon had not yet earned the respect his kind was constantly denied.

Meanwhile, Titan learned scribing and swordplay under the tutelage of the Khanti monks. As he progressed he began to pick up speech and politics. He'd write often about the friends he was making and the females who adored him. Still, his swordplay was the height of his abilities.

Finally, after eight years in the monestary his time was over. Just after his fifteenth birthday he bid his fairwells, and was inducted as a soldier into the empire.

The training was harsh and unfair. He was met with a certain level of hostility, as many of his fellow soldiers would deny him any praise or friendship. Only a select few accepted him, more Chimera than Common. After his second year as a soldier he returned to the monastery, seeking the council of the monks to aide his failing spirit.

In time his convictions grew stronger, and he found his resolve on the battlefield. Despite the lack of support, and downright despising of his allies, he fought with an unbridled ferocity in the war for expansion and territory.

It was on the third day of his second year fighting that everything changed.

"Wake up!" Titan felt a swift jab in his rib cage. It was a boot; no surprise.

"I'm awake. What do you want?" His head was heavy with fatigue and weary from a lack of sleep. He grabbed his side where the boot connected and rolled onto his back. The punishment he recieved hardened him, but it was still no less degrading.

Before any further mistreatment could ensue he sat himself upright, knowing they wouldn't do anything if he wasn't prone on the ground. He was fully dressed, since the cold slabs of stone beneath him were only seperated from his body by a thin layer of hay.

He filled his lungs with a heavy sigh and pushed himself to his feet. His body ached, but no more than he had been bearing for the few months of being on the move.

"There's a situation. Some rumors coming from the west. Get ready and head to the assembly outside."

Despite the man being of equal rank, his words still sounded like an order. But like many things in the milita, Titan had gotten use to it. He adorned his dented field plate, and watched the unfriendly soldier leave.

The Past Connects the Present:
To begin, one thing affects Titan's present more than anything in the past, his love. A long time ago, when Mirtanna Manor was whole, Titan met an Angel in Blue. What came after this meeting could only be explained in a fairy tale, but it ended suddenly when Titan awoke to no longer find the blue Angel by his bedside. Nothing left to show she had planned to be gone forever, but rather it just seemed she had upped and left, taking what she had with her.

Titan, after Mirtanna Manor fell apart, went searching for her for many years before stopping and returning to the now burned down Manor. He headed to the Portal Inn near by, where he had taken refuge upon his entrance into this world. Fixing it up he turned it into what became the Forbidden Starlight Estate. Business grew quickly before Titan met Terina, who he soon fell in love with. But his heart was forever occupied by the Angel, and Terina wasn't enough to fill the giant gap that lay in his heart. Before Terina could tell Titan she was pregnant with his son, Titan left the Manor with an apology and a not explaining why he had to leave. He returned, but many years later the Manor of Forbidden Starlight was destoryed by those looking for Terina and her kind.

Traveling long and far as a Paladin mercenary, taking up jobs and hoping that one day he'd find his lost son and those of Forbidden, but most importantly to find the Blue Angel, Titan came across a swamp. A small caravan broken down infront of the swamp payed him generously to escort them across the swamp before nightfall. Titan did so and upon returning back through the swap noticed it was getting Dark. Heading to a nearby tavern owned by one lady Jade, he discovered what had happened to his love. Enraged by her crime, an inner flame burning within him, his body was engulfed in his own powers. His once gold wings grew a bright silver. But instead of destroying Jade, he offered everything he could to help his love, Mako, from the hellish torments she had been comfined to. Jade agreed upon a contract, and Titan had Mako returned. But the contract was shown as a fraud and Jade, Mako's friend, had set her free from the power of Titan's care for her.

And Titan awoke from the dream, a dream that set him on edge, that shook his heart and split it. Was it real? Titan's wings were now silver, but what had trully happened? Was the silver of his wings a reaction to the dream that was so real, or was the dream itself real?

A year later Titan rebuilt Mirtanna Manor and with the help of Tzip and Sarge established it. The time was ripe as many old friends soon gathered in the place, and many new dramas arose. Tzipora, who had always been in love with Titan, Titan who had known this for a long time, admitted it to him. He sadly rejected, knowing the gap in his heart was still to large, and that if he returned the love his heart would only fail him, hurting someone very close to his heart. The gap in his heart closes so slowly, and perhaps he will be gray and old before it's finally sealed . . .
