Because of how the Act-Labs lightgun works it is not 100% compatible with everything.

Will work with:

CRT monitors

Resolution up to 2048 x 1940

VGA Only (did not work on my Sun Microsystems monitor)

Windows (not DOS)

Needs USB

Regular MAME .64 (contrary to what they say) or MAME32

 

Won't work with:

LCD Monitors

TV out etc.

Arcade monitors

Macs are not natively supported however since it is a standard HID (Human Interface Device) Technically they should work, but Act-Labs does not provide support. If you have ran it on a Mac E-Mail me

Computers without USB

Computers that already have an Act-Labs Lightgun installed
