Wiccan Rede and creed

The wiccan rede is important when it comes to wicca. It is the law and it explains out teachings. It blankly means if you send something out no matter what it is it will come back to you 3 times more. If you send out pain and hate, it will return to you 3 times worse then expected. If you send out love and happiness you'll surly be happy for a while. Well.. Here is the wiccan rede.

"Bide the Wiccan Law ye must, In perfect love and perfect trust. Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: An' ye harm none, do what ye will. What ye send forth comes back to thee. So ever mind the law of three. Follow this with mind and heart, Merry ye meet, and merry ye part. Blessed Be."

The wiccans creed is a poem which Doreen Valiente wrote in her explination of the wiccan rede.

"Hear now the words of the witches, the secrets we hid in the night, when dark was our destiny's pathway, that now we bring forth into light.

Mysterious water and fire, the earth and the wide-ranging air, by hidden quintessence, we know them and will keep silent and dare.

The birth and rebirth of all nature, the passing of winter and spring, we share with life universal, rejoice in the magical ring.

Four times in the year the great Sabbat returns, and the witches are seen at Lammas and Candlemas dancing, on May eve and old Hallowe'en.

When day-time and night-time are equal, when sun is at greates and least, the four Lesser Sabbats are summoned and again gather Witches in feast.

Thirteen silver moons in a year. Thirteen is the coven's array. Thriteen times at Esbat make merry, for each golden year and a day.

The power was passed down the ages each time between woman and man, each century unto the other, ere time and the ages began.

When drawn is the magickal circle, by sword or athame of power, its compass between the two worlds lies in land of the shades for that hour.

This world has no right then to know it, and world of beyond will tell naught. The oldest of Gods are invoked there, the Great Work of magic is wrought.

For thwo are the mystical pillars that stand at the gate of the shrine, and two are the powers of nature, the forms and the forces divine.

The dark and the light in successtion, tje opposites each unto each shown forth as a god and a goddess: of this did out ancestors teach.

By night He's the wild wind's rider, the Horn'd One, the Lord of the Shades. By day he's the King of the Woodland, the dweller in the green forest glades.

She is youthful or old as She pleases, She sails the torn clouds in Her barque, the bright silver lady of midnight, the crone who weaves spells in the dark.

The master and mistress of magic, they dwell in the deeps of the mind., immortal and ever-renewing, with power to free or to bind.

So drink the good wine to the Old Gods and dance and make love in their praise till Elphame's fair land shall recieve us In the peace at the end of our days.

And do what you will be the challene, so be it in love that harms none, for this is the only commandment. By magic of olc it be done! Eight words the Witch's Creed fulfill: If it harms none, do what you will"

You can use this statement when opening a circle and closing a cirle.

Blessings

Blessings are usually used for many things in many religions. Here the blessings are like prayers for many different reasons.

Bedtime Blessing. It can be used before you go to sleep for better sleep.

In the still of the night while the world around me sleeps my the angels smile upon me and the Lady bring me peace. Bleassings upon {On whom you would like to bless.} I know tha tYou will care for them and bring them what they need. Instill in me great harmony in thought and work and deed. So mote it be.

Gift blessing. Hold the object that you wish to bless in your hands and say this blessing. Its good to say this blessing so the person thats recieving the gift will feel more happier.

Perfect love and perfect peace, the world will dance as one. I dream the wish to make it real, the magick now is done.

After you finish draw an equal armed cross (+) in the air over the object.

Meal blessing. This can be a very good blessing at the table if the family chants it in a round.

The table round contains the Earth, and thous becomes the Mother. We share her bounty in this hour, and bless and love each other. So mote it be.

Personal Journal/Book blessing.

These words herein are mine alone, fashoined deep inside my bones, each picture, thought, and quote you see, are all reflections of what is me. Beware the urge to take this book or read it in some private nook, because its magick isn't blind and I will know you've touched what's mine.

The charge of the Goddess is a blessing written by Charles Leland. It was from the book Areadia: Gospel of the Witches (Vangelo delle Streghe). Here is the version written by Doreen Valiente, one of the most gifted poets and priestesses of Wicca in our time. This charge is good for intiation.

The Charge (Part one)

Listen to the words of the Great Mother, who was of old, called amongst men, Artemis, Astarte, Dione, Melusine, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Diana, Arionhod, Bride, and by many other names.

At mine Altar, the youths of Lacedemon in Sparta made due sacrifice. Whenever ye have need of anything. once in the month and better it be when the Moon is Full, then shall ye assemble in some secret place and adore the Spirit of Me, who am Queen of all the Witcheries. There shall ye assemble, who are feign to learn all socrceries who have not as yet won my deepest secrets. To these will I teach that which is as yet unknown. And ye shall be free from all slavery and as a sign that ye be really free, ye shall sing, feast, and make music, all in my prescence. FOr mine is the ecstasy of the Spirit and mine is also joy on earth. For my Law is lone unto all beings. Keep pure your highest ideals, strive ever towards them. Let none stop you or turn you aside. For mine is the secret that opens upon the door of youth and mine is the Cup of the Wine of Life and the Cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of Immortality. I am the Gracious Goddess who gives the gift of joy unto the heart of man upon earth. I give the knowledge of the Spirit Eternal, and beyond death I give peace and freedom and reunion with those that have gone before. Nor do I demand aught or sacrifice, for behold I am the Mother of all things, and my love is ppured out upon the earth.

The Charge of the Star Goddess (Part two)

Hear ye the words of the star goddess. She, in the dust of whose feet are the Hosts of Heaven, whose body encircleth the universe.

I, who am the beauty of the Green Earth and the White Moon amongst the stars and the mystery of the Waters, and the desire of the heart of man; the call unto thy soul arise and come unto me. For I am the Soul of Nature who giveth life to the universe; from me all things proceed an unto me all things must return. You, beloved of the Gods and men, whose innermost divine self shall be enfolded in the raptures of the Infinite, let my worship be in the heart. Rejoiceth, for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals; therefore, let there be beauty and strength--power and compassion-- honor and humility, mirth and revernce-- within you. And thou who thinkest to seek me, know that seeking and yearning avail thee not, unless thou knowest the mystery--that if that which thou seekest thou findeth not within thyself, thou wilt never find it without thee. For behold! I have been with the from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire!
