WEJF started in 1992 as a Southern Gospel station. Three years later the founder sold it in name to Florida Public Radio and it changed to a Contemporary Christian Music format. That began the variety of programming. The original founder was Dan McMurphy. Our parent station, WPIO, took him under their wing and showed him the ropes of how to build a station from scratch along with the FCC paperwork. Randy Henry (WPIO) has been instrumental in starting and financing WEJF from birth. |
