Episode 1-Pilot
We begin in Smallville, Kansas, on October 1989. A couple, JONATHAN and MARTHA KENT, are shopping at a local flower shop when little LANA LANG comes toddling up to Martha. She asks Martha to make a wish, so Martha wishes for a child. As She and Jonathan drive home, the meteor shower occurs and blasts a huge hole in the cornfield around them. The two investigate, and suprise suprise, a kid comes walking up to them. Pleasantly suprises, Martha picks him up and wraps up the kid in a blanket as she and Jonathan look around. At about the smae time, little LEX LUTHOR AND LIONEL LUTHOR land in the middle of a/the cornfield in a helicoptor. Little Lex wanders a bit and finds someone else tied up like a scarecrow, and then-wow, the meteors crash down and Lionel finds his son (Lex) bald! Oh, and not to mention frightened Very badly. Duh. Who wouldn't? The scene goes to Lana, who is outside the flower shop in time to see her parents struck down by meteors, and all of a sudden, she's been unexpectedly orphaned.
We are taken forward in time: TODAY. The little boy Martha and Jonathan found is now teenage CLARK KENT. He and his friend, PETE ROSS, watch the football team wistfully. Both want to join, if not only to avoid becoming the annual "scarecrow" of the year, since its the jocks that do the scarecrowing. To bring us up to date: Teenage Lana is now dating Whitney, her jock boyfriend, and grown-up Lex Luthor is now a rich dude. He tries to
