Backgrounds
Avatar: The sound and voice of the wheel speaks to Reine. Its this voice and believe in its righteousness that gets Reine up and moving, and allows her to commit what many people believe to be heiness acts of manslaughter.
Resources: Nice sized income brought in from multiple lottery winnings. House with her lover Samantha Piper, and Japanese cycle.
Arcane: Ever want a second chance at a first impression? Reine has tons of them. One of the more difficult people to follow and often forgotten by all the right people. This helps her immensely in her service to the eternal wheel. Her friends, on the other hand, always seem to remember who she is.

Story: Reine was born in bright, sunny California on December 31st, 1977. Her family was extremely close. Two parents who loved each other o so much, and loved their wonderful daughter even more. Her up bringing could be thought of as nothing less than perfect. She got straight A’s throughout all of elementary and middle school. When she arrived in high school she still managed to stay on the honor role while completing a rigorous course of computer classes, keeping up with the latest trends, and seeing her wonderful boyfriend Ken whenever at all possible. Even Ken seemed too good to be true; tall, romantic, intelligent, and the starting quarterback for the varsity football team. Everything seemed perfect for Reine until one day it all went wrong.
Reine graduated from LAS High School, 9th in her class and decided to take the summer off for a good bit of well-needed recreation. She accompanied her boyfriend out to the beach for what would consist of sun, fun, and Ken‘s romantic proposal under a warm starlit night. At this time her parents received the acceptance letter from Hartford University, offering Reine a complete scholarship in computer technology. Reine came home with her boy friend a week later, diamond ring on her finger just glowing with happiness. Her parents too, were immensely happy for their daughter who, after studying and working hard through most of her life, was finally about to see the payoffs of those actions. The whole family, including Ken, decided to go out to dinner that night. Reine planned on telling her parents of the engagement, her parents planning on informing Reine of her acceptance to Hartford. Reine was dressed beautifully, the warm night was perfect, but then it happened.
The family decided to take a single car to the restaurant and on the way there, was involved in a massive accident. When turning onto the freeway, a single car driving the opposite direction, came veering directly into the front of the family’s vehicle, sending it flying. Two weeks later Reine awakens from a coma at a local hospital. She had nearly died, a hunk of metal coming within a few inches of her spine, slitting her back wide open. Her parents and more importantly, Ken though, had not been as lucky. A doctor entered and calmly told the girl of everything that had happened. After leaving, a group of police entered, asking questions and waving badges. That night, an emotionally scarred Reine would escape from her shrink rapped prison and obtain a gun.
Reine planned on killing herself that night, and why not? She had nothing else to live for in her mind, her family and lover all killed by a reckless assailant. Obtaining a small hand gun from a local pawnshop, she walked the streets that night for several hours, contemplating her own death. Finally convinced on the action, she sat down at a bench, placed the gun to he head and paused, Reine wasn’t alone. A mysterious man dressed in black took a seat next to her, talking softly. He explained to her the beginning of creation, of the great wheel that held the true balance between life and death, and of her rightful place in tending to that wheel. The words touched the girl, and instead of committing her own death, she would go home. It was that very same night which Reine would awaken to the world of Magic. The next morning Reine packed up her stuff and left for the airport. She decided that the only way she could truly be whole again was if she could figure out how it was that everything worked, this “wheel” the man mentioned became the source of her strength and courage. She flew out to Washington D.C. and from there took a flight to Egypt. Her plan had been to arrive in India and learn from those who had the knowledge she needed. But instead of finding herself an Acarya in India, fate brought her to a tomb raider in Egypt.
Reine arrived at the airport in Cairo. It would be quite a few hours before her next flight would leave, so she decided to make her way around and witness the sights. She made her way out of the complex and hailed a cab, which was promptly taken by a cocky black haired teen. The boy couldn't have been more then 16 years old from the looks of him but Rein, infuriated at that action, hailed another cab and took chase. After finally arriving at his destination, Reine leaped into action, demanding that the boy apologize for what he had done. (It was people like him that poisoned the ever-spinning wheel; he had to be dealt with.) The boy introduced himself as Jack the relic hunter, and invited Reine to spend the day with him exploring a tomb. There must have been something special about Jack because Reine agreed almost instantly. They would spend the day in the depths of a tomb exploring, and at one point almost being crushed by the things ancient defenses. After walking out into the night’s light, it was apparent that Reine had missed her flight to India. With another flight not leaving for a few months, she decided to stay with Jack for the time being, using her knowledge with computers to aid him in finding and essentially cashing in on ancient treasures.
Over the course of a few years, the two of them would come into contact with a number of people who would later be part of the group known as the “De Coeurs”. Ace, a witty yet sexy stunt driver would prove her use again and again in allowing the group to escape from dangerous situations. Diez would come along, as would Rex to help the group in other matters of importance. With everyone agreeing on a common goal and purpose, the 5 legally changed their last name to “De Coeurs” to symbolize their unity. The De Coeurs showed themselves to be a search team for hire, finding and obtaining any item that one could find need in. This went fine for a while until a Hermetic requested the group’s help in pillaging the Temple of Arezoth on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Jack was always the first to enter the temples. It was his job to check for traps and make sure everything was fine, he of course being the most knowledgeable of this kind of stuff in the group. This time was no different accept in the fact that he never came back out. The group arrived at the Temple of Arezoth and Jack went in like usual. The rest of the group sat outside and waited for his return… and waited… and waited some more. After waiting an hour, Reine started to worry. (Jack had never taken this long before, maybe something had happened?) No sooner had that thought crossed her mind that the ground started to shake, bringing the immensely large Temple of Arezoth down with it. Reine, heartbroken at the loss of her close friend, decided to go back on her journey of understanding the great wheel, which had now taken four lives away from her. She pursued individual study of the Euthanatos Tradition on her own back in the States. When she needed money she would routinely win the lottery, or make large bets she knew she could win. By pure chance one day while purchasing something off of E-Bay, she noticed someone selling an artifact claiming it to be from the lost temple of Arezoth. (Could this possible be true? And if it was does that mean Jack was still out there somewhere?) Once again putting her study on hold, she began searching for a once dead friend. Immense amounts of luck and long nights on the computer led Reine to Miami, where she hoped she would find Jack.
