Poison Prevention in Rats
1. House plants look interesting to a rat but can be deadly poisonous. Please keep all plants away from your ratties.
2. Keep all medications locked away, even a small aspirin can be fatal.
3. Lock up all your household cleaning agents. Rats will gnaw through anything.
4. Keep mothballs locked away from your rats.
5. Pot Pourri and scented candles can be toxic.
6. Batteries are deadly.
7. Cigarettes and alcohol are poisonous. Fizzing drinks are dangerous and can
kill your rat.
8. Home made salt dough, blue tac, glue etc. All are harmful.
9. Don't spray air freshener, fabric freshener, hair spray, perfume or deodorant. All are toxic and should never be sprayed in the same room as your rat are kept.
10. Glues and other household DIY substances.
11. Smokey fires. Please do not put your rats in rooms with
coal fires, the smoke is harmful.
Common sense should be used to prevent your rats coming into contact with any of the above substances.
