QHRA Rules

1. To be registered in the QHRA, horses must be registered as purebred Quarter Horses, Paint Horses, or Appaloosas.
2. QHRA horses cannot be bred until they have retired from the QHRA.
3. Horses must have an MR# to be registered in the QHRA.
4. Only QHRA registered horses may compete in the races.
5. QHRA registered horses may ONLY compete in QHRA sanctioned races, and no other events.

Race Gradings

Maiden - Starting Point
Allowance - Must break Maiden to get here
Graded Stakes - Must win one allowance race
Grade 3 - Must win one Graded Stakes race
Grade 2 - Must win two Grade 3 races
Grade 1 - Must win two Grade 2 races
