Hi! My name is Joyce Lazenby and I am from Kannapolis, North Carolina. I
have one fantastic son, David, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Debbie and 2 beautiful
grandsons, Kevin and Luke. Residing with me are my 2 cats, KooterKat and Thomas
Kirby and my toy poodle, Precious. I did have a minature Schnauzer, Gizmo, but
he had to be put to sleep because of health problems. He was my baby and I loved
him so much.
Some of my hobbies include reading (Christian fiction),
playing and (alas) working on my computer, and watching football.
I am currently in my 4th semester at RCCC, trying to earn my associates degree
with a major in Medical Office Administration. If all goes well, I should graduate
in July/August 2005. Even though I've dreamed of going to college since high
school, I never in my wildest imaginations thought it would happen! Here I am
at 55, becoming a student again.
After 35 years at the same company, I found myself unemployed because the
company shut its doors. My plans of being carried out on a slab rather than
retiring were cut short when Pillowtex closed its doors on July 30,2003. I had
a great job as a secretary to the Human Resource Manager in Towel Greige Yarn
Manufacturing. You can imagine how devastated I was! But, there is a silver
lining behind every cloud - I am now getting a degree!
When I'm not involved with school work, I love spending time with my family...
especially my two grandsons, Kevin and Luke. Grandchildren are wonderful!
Kevin will be 4 in April and Luke will 2 in May. Here is a picture of my pride
and joys...my son David, his wife Debbie and my 2 babies.
Taking care of my critters, KooterKat, Thomas Kirby and Precious consumes
much of my free time. They constantly want something to eat. Every time I
walk in the kitchen it's "FEED ME SEYMOUR!" I don't have a picture of Precious,
but she's a very prissy, white toy poodle.They are so much company for me and
are absolutely hilarious! The picture below is of Gizmo and KooterKat. They were
best buds. Don't let the next picture scare you - my sister got right in Tom's
face to take it. Then you'll see Kooter in the washing machine trying to hide
from me, or so she thought.

Back to my hobbies. As I said, I love to read Christian fiction, especially
books about end time prophecies. Some of my favorites are:
- The Left Behind Series by Tim LeHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins
- The Tribulation Series by Paul Myers
- Babylon Rising by Tim LeHaye
The Greenbay Packers has been my favorite football team for years. My son
and I are usually glued to the TV when the networks decide to show one of
their games around here. Although I like all the players, I do have my favorites.
