STONE WARRIOR

       The warrior stands alone

Face unmoving—as if of stone

Signs of his work all around

Looking upon the battleground

In his mind he replays the fight

He stood on the side of the right

The warrior stands alone

Heart still—as if of stone

Solitude has made him strong

Going into the worldly throng

Leaving the safety of his mind

Searching for one of his own kind

The warrior stands alone

Eyes ice blue—as if of stone

He has searched the land through

Looking for the gods know who

One to fight by his side—maybe

One to set his soul at peace—free

The warrior stands alone

Death chilling—as if of stone

The sword falls from his side

He awaits the final ride

Why do they continue to attack

He will win sending them back

The warrior stands alone

Time stops—as if of stone

They come and he sends them to death

On and on they seem to seek it—death

For their tiny little words

On to the sky he will set souls to fly

The warrior stands alone

Code of heart—as if of stone

Do no harm to the weak and poor

Others sent on to deaths door

Will the fight never end—ever

Fighting and winning—forever

The warrior stands alone

Looking into their eyes—as if of stone
