Daily Sermon Subject: "The Five Points of Spiritual Growth"
First I would like to emphasize what the five points of spiritual growth are. They are as follows:
Spiritual development is essential for a happy and healthy life. Spiritual growth does not come easily, and there are many paths to take, many paths that will ultimately lead to one truth.
Knowledge: we must always be open to new knowledge, always be willing to obtain and seek out new truths and must have the know-how to discard dogma, and lies that restrict our spiritual growth. We must be willing to love what this knowledge brings.
Understanding: Without understanding our knowledge will mean nothing. We must know the difference, understand the difference, between what is truth and what is the lie. We must be willing to understand one another, be open to others ideas, concepts and understandings.
With knowledge and understanding we will begin our journey through wisdom. We will be able to make wise decisions and prevent unhealthy situations. We must be wise enough to know when to act, and when to follow through.
We must be responsible for ourselves. We must learn to take responsibility for our own actions and our reactions. We must take responsibility for others as well. We must be willing to take personal responsibility for our sins. When we are responsible we can finally accept the truth.
We must accept ourselves for who we are. Without this acceptance we cannot move onto change, and therefore we cannot grow. If we do not accept our sins, we will have no reason to change them in the future.
There are so many of us that have forgotten how to love. Love is the basis of all of creation. It is also the basis of our spiritual growth. If we are to love knowledge, than we shall seek it out. If we are to love understanding, than we will seek out to understand. If we are to love wisdom, then we shall seek to be wise. If we are to love ourselves enough to take responsibility for what we do, then we shall become more responsible with our lives and others. If we love ourselves enough to accept ourselves for who we are than we shall journey onto the greatest path we have ever undertaken, we shall be knowledgable, we shall understand. We shall have the wisdom grow in a healthy manner, we shall have the ability to be responsible and we shall finally accept. With these things our spirits will soar.
