The Skills
These are all the skills you can learn.

Tao Magic - Allows you to use energy attacks. Can be learned anywhere. Takes 2 weeks to learn.


Lock Pick skill - Allows you to pick locks when thrown in prisons. Can only be learned on Mars. Takes 1 week to learn.

Aviation - The skill needed if you ever want to use a space craft. Can be learned anywhere and takes 2 weeks to learn.

Transformations - Your characters can gain big time power from a transformation. Allows the user to change into an animal (Tiger, lion, bear, etc.) User gains triple hit points and does 3 times damage. Can only use physical attacks (ranged and close combat apply) or Melee Attacks. Must be a level 30 to learn and must have 1,000 self control. Takes 4 weeks to learn. Can only use either Transformation or Shamanize in battle.

Summon Skill - Allows you to summon a guardian. See Moves for more details. Takes 4 weeks to learn anywhere. Must be a level 45.

Shamanize - The user changes themselves into a magical being and can use all magics known by the user except for Summon and Meteor. Triple the HP and triples the magical damage (except Typhoon and Water which doubles the effectiveness and damage). Can only use magic attacks...but can only use each magic 3 times each (except Water and Typhoon). Takes 4 weeks to learn and must have 1,000 self control and be a level 30. Can only use either Shamanize, or Transformation in battle. Shamanize is not effected by the Magic Mastery skills.

Engineering - The skill to help your character repair their weapons and vehicles. Can be learned anywhere and must have 90 intelligence. Takes 2 weeks to learn anywhere.

Martial Arts - This skill allows you to use other things than just regular kicks and punches. It adds 20 to power and speed. Takes 3 weeks to learn anywhere.

Weapons Mastery - This skill is actually three different levels of skill. Anyone can use any weapon(with a few exceptions) but it takes time and effort to achieve mastery.

First Level
Weapon Novice - You gain an additional 5 damage to you weapon you're trained in. Takes 4 weeks of training.

Second Level
Weapon Proficient- You gain an additional attack with your weapon per turn (gun users may take that time to reload, only counts for one turn). You must have already learned Weapons Novice, takes 6 weeks of training.

Third Level
Weapon Master - You gain another additional attack per turn (gun users may take that time to reload, only counts for one turn), along with an additional 20 damage per attack. Must already know Weapon Novice and Weapon Proficient, takes 8 weeks to learn.


Magic Mastery - Much like weapons, there is many different levels to a person magical strength. Over time with study it can grow stronger and more powerful. There are three levels of learning.

First Level
Novice - This skill takes 3 weeks and can be learned anywhere. It increase the power of your magic by adding 200 extra damage.

Second Level
Wizard - This skill takes a longer time to learn for much, much, more studying must be done. It takes one month to learn only on Mars. It makes your magic even more powerful by adding in letting you use the two spells in one turn. (Use one from one level then be able to use one from a level lower, unless they are both level 1 then you use two level ones). When dodged, however, it only counts as taking one dodge in order dodge both magics, not two.

Third Level
Master Mage - For this skill you must study for 2 months in Mysidia. This skill makes your mage even more powerful by letting you be able to use two magics of the same level and boasting the damage done by 400. When dodged, however, it only counts as taking one dodge in order dodge both magics, not two.

The Way of the Samurai - Nifty skill that increases your speed by 20. It also increases your accuracy by 15. Takes 4 weeks to learn anywhere unless you are training with Master Level training.

Disguise - This skill helps you evade being caught by Space Patrol or anyone else that is after you. Gives you 15 Determination. Takes 4 weeks to learn anywhere.

Dark Hadou - Dangerous skill only people with a self control of 1,500 can control. Dangerous in the meaning that all your closed up feelings...depression...anger...all build up and are released. Character has a glowing red aura surround them. May be learned early but can be EXTREMELLY hard to control. User fights until they die. Can be learned in 3 weeks. Best left untouched. Raises power by 300 and Magic by 200. User under the influence of the Dark Hadou cannot dodge or block unless they can control it's powers.

Dragon of the Earth - Another dangerous skill. User becomes enraged with the fury of the planet Earth because of how it has become. If all seven dragons of the Earth unite, they can completely destroy the Earth. Only way they can accomplish this is if they defeat all 7 Dragons of the Heavens. Knowing this skill is almost like the Dark Hadou technique. You get a red aura, except your appearance doesn't change, only your heart....User gains 300 in HP and Power. Takes 10 weeks to learn. Anyone can learn this skill as long as you are a level 500 in Self Control, but there are only 7 TRUE Dragons of Earth. Are you a Dragon of the Earth?????

Dragon of the Heavens - More safe in the sense that the person using it does not go insane or have a thirst for killing. If all 7 Dragons of the Heavens unite, they will fight the Dragons of the Earth and defeat them. Legend has it that the one that will lead the Dragons of Heaven against the Dragons of Earth as the same star allignment, as on the leader of the Dragons of Earth, show in the sky. They will be childhood friends....and at one point or another....one of them WILL die....User gains 150 in Power, 150 in HP, 150 in Speed and 150 Intelligence. Anyone can learn this but there are only 7 TRUE Dragons of Heaven. Any level can learn this as long as they have 850 Self Control. Takes 3 weeks to learn.

Triple Weapon - Nifty skill that allows you to carry three weapons instead of two. Can only be learned in the town of Photon City on Blue Heaven. Must know Weapons Novice. Takes 4 weeks to learn. Adds 50 to Intelligence. Can not be learned during Basic Training.

Sniper's Focus - A skill that is for one's that are skilled in the area of accuracy. Must have 350 accuracy. Takes four weeks to learn on Mars or Winhill on Earth. Adds 75 to everything but accuracy.

Understanding Of The Planet And Lifestream - The study of the planet and all the forces holding it together. You'll become more in touch with the planet and gain an inner peace. Increases your Intelligence and Self Control by 120. Takes 5 weeks to learn, spend 2 and a half weeks studding in Cosmo Canyon, and then spend 2 and a half weeks studding in Mideel.

Grappler Control - A skill needed to control more than two grappler arms. Can only be learned while in the Grappler Academy.

Gundam Pilot - A skill needed to pilot the Gundam class of Mobile Suit. Can only be learned through the special training on Colony L-3 X18999.

Steal- Only thieves and pirates may learn this and must stay a thief or pirate, otherwise the skill is lost. Must be in Mar Sara to learn. Takes 2 weeks and must have 50 Intelligence to learn. Must be known in order to steal gil. When used in battle, it may be used only once. The person has a 1/20 chance of stealing an item from his/her opponent (ref decides). It may only be an item the person owns, except weapons. In monster battles, it may be used as many times as the person wishes, and has a 50% chance of being successful. Adds 50 to Speed.

Mug- Same as steal except the user also delivers damage to the target. Must have 250 Intelligence to learn. When used in battle, it may be used only once. The person has a 1/20 chance of stealing an item from his/her opponent. It may only be an item the person owns (No weapons or accesories). In monster battles, it may be used as many times as the person wishes, and has a 50% chance of being successful.
Damage: 50 + 1/4 Power. Takes 6 weeks and must be at Pirate Outpost to learn.

Two Weapon Style- This is a style of fighting available only to the fastest and the best of the weapons masters alive. This skill lets a weapons master weild two melee weapons at a time. This gives you an extra attack per round using the second weapon. (This attack is at base damage only). Only those wielding daggers, headdress, gloves, claws, and nunchaku can benefit from this skill. The two weapons being used can be any combination of those listed, so long as the user is capable of using the weapons in question. The reason being is simple, heavier or more complicated weapons cannot be used with the swiftness that this skill calls for. Any form of gun or weapon that requires reloading requires a free hand to operate, so they cannot benefit from this skill. Must be a weapons master in the weapon(s) that benefits from this skill. Also must have 2,000 speed, 2,000 determination, and 2,000 self control. Takes 12 weeks to learn.

Twin Weapon Style- This is an advanced form of fighting using two weapons. The weapons master has so dedicated himself to this style that he has mastered striking with both weapons more often than his opponent. For every 500 points of speed, the twin duelist gains one extra attack with his secondary melee weapon (this attack is at the base damage of the second weapon). Must have two weapon style. Takes 18 weeks to learn.

Tracking- With this skill a person can track a persons or creatures movements in natural terrain i.e. woodlands, mountains, etc. Weather conditions hinder this skill. In perfect conditions, the user can gain any information about what he is tracking. Creatures name, likely size, number of creatures that passed, and how long it has been since they passed. Even in the worst of conditions, a tracker can still tell the amount of time since it passed thru the area. This skill counteracts the disguise skill. Takes 8 weeks to learn. Rangers can learn it in half the time due to their connection to the wild.
