 Realm of the Faeries

Faeries are marvelous creatures with magical powers that can do numerous things, good and bad. No introduction shall do them full justice. Although they are wild and ambiguous, Faeries can be made into friends if everything is appropriate. Faeries can come in any shape or size and have just about any type of characteristic. They can be grotesque, beautiful, or just completely normal looking. The tend to troop in very large groups and are said to have derived from Ireland.

In ancient days, the land of Eire was held by the ferocious Firbolg people, a tribe of great warriors. The legends say the Tuatha de Danann came to Ireland from the west in great ships that lifted out of the water and soared through the air. The Firbolg had created a magical barrier around Eire to prevent invasions, but the Tuatha circled seven times, thereupon finding a way through the barrier. A series of fierce battles ensued, both great tribes fighting with such ferocity that some believed them to be gods. Rather than eliminating the brute Firbolg, the Tuatha made a pact with them which allowed the Firbolg to control one-fourth of Ireland under the protection of the Tuatha for the rest of time. However, with the coming of the Milesians both great tribes would be threatened. The Milesian armies took swift control of the Tuatha and Firbolg, nurturing the civilized attitude of the Tuatha and really no less than worshipping them as gods. The Tuatha, however, made plans to escape their gentle conquerors. They fled underground under the leadership of Dagda. (left) To this day they have been renouned for their occupation of the Faerie Mounds of Ireland, and thus begins the Faerie history.
