Like her elder and younger sisters’, HRH Princess Benedikte’s wedding dress was designed and made by Danish designer Jorgen Bender. Extremely simple, much more than the one of her sister, the dress was of white silk and the train, the most regal characteristic of the dress, fell from her shoulders. Hardly visible, on the sides of the skirt, was the white lace that had also been used for the dress of HRH Princess Margrethe. The Princess’ beautiful bouquet was of white Thai orchids.

The Princess followed the tradition started by her youngest sister, HM Queen Anne-Marie of The Hellenes, of wearing the elegant Khedive of Egypt Cartier Tiara, inherited by Queen Ingrid from her mother. The tiara held in place the same beautiful veil of white lace that had been worn by Queen Anne-Marie and HRH Hereditary Princess Margrethe. On her dress and as the only ornament of it, the Princess wore two small diamond stars.
