Her Majesty The Queen of Norway is followed by HRH Princess Margrethe and Count Henri de Laborde de Monpezat on the arrival to the banquet offered by TM The King and Queen of Denmark to the Diplomatic Corps to celebrate the Royal Wedding. The banquet took place on the 30th of May, following the arrival at Fredensborg of the Monpezat family. Her Majesty Queen Ingrid wore the splendid Diamond and Emerald Parure, part of the Danish Crown Jewels. Her eldest daughter, Princess Margrethe, wore her exquisite Diamond Drop Tiara, while HRH Princess Benedikte, seen behind with her fiancé, HSH Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, wore her Floral Tiara.

On the left, HH Prince Viggo, Count of Rosenborg, next to his nephew Count Christian of Rosenborg and his wife, Countess Karin, wearing the elegant diamond kokoshnik that had belonged to Princess Viggo, deceased the previous year. On the right, HRH Princess Margaretha of Denmark, born Princess of Sweden and widow of Prince Axel, wears her Diamond Star Tiara and is accompanied by her sister-in-law HRH Princess Margrethe of Bourbon-Parma, born Princess of Denmark, who wears a large diamond tiara. Behind them, Princess Margaretha’s eldest son, Prince Georg of Denmark and his wife Princess Anne, born Anne Bowes-Lyon.

HRH Prince Knud of Denmark, younger brother of HM King Frederik IX, is accompanied by his wife and cousin, HRH Princess Caroline-Mathilde, born Princess of Denmark, who wears a small diamond tiara. They are followed by their children, HRH Princess Elisabeth (wearing Princess Thyra’s Tunget Tiara) and HRH Prince Ingolf.

On the right, Count Flemming of Rosenborg, second son of Princess Margaretha and the late Prince Axel, walks with his wife, Countess Ruth of Rosenborg, who wears Princess Marie’s Opal Tiara, which she inherited after the death of Princess Viggo.
