Background:
Kalysto was once a Valkyrie. She lived in Asgard, bringing chosen warrior souls, by Odin’s command, to Valhalla to train them to fight in the Final Battle, Ragnarok. Her life in Asgard was good until she was assigned to retrieve the soul of a hard-working detective caught in the middle of a shoot-out. Upon arriving at her destination, she found herself unable to let the detective die; he was protecting three schoolchildren while trying to draw the fire toward himself. A very rare moment of compassion passed through the Valkyrie, and Kalysto took the soul of the gunman, allowing the detective to live on and do great things in his long career.

Odin was furious with Kalysto. No one was to ever defy the gods, and even though Kalysto had served the Norse god faithfully for millennia, that one moment of mercy cost her dearly. She was banned from Asgard, her giant white wings were viciously chopped off into bloody stubs, and she was sentenced to a full-term mortal life, her soul returned to Earth.

Her second life began in Chicago, growing up in a black ghetto with her mother and stepfather. It wasn’t until she was eleven that Kalysto was forced out to the streets, running until her stepfather was imprisoned for killing her mother in a drunken rage. She was taken in by a motley crew of a gang, and learned the rough and tough life of the streets, fighting to survive and to keep territory. As she grew into a young woman, she became a better fighter, and after she managed to dethrone a notoriously brutal and nasty gangster by the name of Money G, the rest of the gangs gave her their respect and her space.

Kalysto grew interested in the wrestling business when she was in grade school, and had followed it as best she could after turning to the streets. Kalysto knew she could do just what they do, as she had vast amounts of experience with extreme brawling, so she joined a wrestling school. It wasn’t too long before she began to work in an independent company there in the Windy City, but her aspirations were too big for that. When she grew bored of living in Chicago, she joined a touring company by the name HCW, one that would let her use her styles of extreme brawling and high flying in excess, and take her places she had always envisioned but never really thought possible for her career.

Soon, HCW became XIW, and she enjoyed some success with the help of owner Tyler Black, claiming the International Television title and heading up the Black Knights against the rest of the roster. However, it wasn’t until Kalysto broke ties with Black that she found out how great a wrestler she could be, and came to form tight friendships with several of her fellow superstars. When management shifted from Black, Kalysto was able to become the XIW Undisputed Champion, and went on to hold that title until she vacated it without being defeated.

Her search for the ‘next big thing’ took her on to CCW, a company that was a mixture of humans and creatures, with just the right amount of freaks mixed into the roster. Her stint there was very brief, but in those few months, Kalysto learned that not everyone in the world was exactly the species they appeared to be. A strange thing happened while in CCW; there was a stirring in her soul, one that drew her to certain, dangerous wrestlers, and she couldn’t understand exactly why. A little perturbed by such a thing, she began to decline the challenges of those individuals, causing tension between her and her appointed manager. In the end, Kalysto was released, much to her own relief, never to think of the strange pull of her soul again.

She couldn’t sit still for long. Kalysto’s desire to be in the wrestling world caused her to scratch her itches, and she next reappeared in XCA (the rejuvenated XIW) as El Lobo, a masked luchador who seemed to know the in’s and out’s better than some of the more seasoned superstars. However, when her true identity was revealed, Tyler Black and his crew of Knights saw fit to run her out of the company for good - and nearly ended her life.

She next appeared in PWX at the request of Adam “Nitro” Hawk. In PWX, Kalysto flourished, becoming one of the top performers the company employed; she catapulted her reputation by capturing the Hardcore, the Tag Team, the Commonwealth, and the World Heavyweight Championships during her time there. However, success does not come without controversy, and Kalysto was no stranger to it. Personal issues away from the ring became public inside the squared circle when she had savage battles with former best friends, turning into a more brutal and vicious fighter. It wasn’t until she went too far and almost completely severed all friendship ties that Kalysto found herself on a road to redemption. By then, PWX was closing, and all on the roster when their separate ways.

Present:
After PWX closed down, Kalysto went back to Chicago, returning to her roots and helping out her gang of misfits, as they had been there for her since she was small and continued to be on her side during the tough times in life.

It was during this time in her mortal life that residual memories of her former life as a Valkyrie began to emerge. Mostly, it happened in dreams, or what she thought were dreams; she could see herself with grand white wings, escorting warriors of every era and every culture to a lush land, or heading into a battlefield with other winged women mounted on wolves. It brought her back to the time she was in CCW, when her soul was drawing her toward powerful creatures, and it made her wonder about herself. Then came the day she looked in the mirror, and saw herself not as she usually would, but with bloodied stumps of white protruding out of her shoulder blades with the Valkyrie pendent around her throat. When she looked over her shoulder though, she didn’t see anything like that, nor was there anything on her neck.

Realizing something strange was going on, Kalysto sought out a local telepath to help her unlock the mystery surrounding the bizarre occurrences. The telepath sensed a metal block around parts of Kalysto’s memory, telling the blonde that it was most likely a past life she didn’t want to remember. With extensive help over several months, Kalysto was able to break down the wall around her memories, and discovered the past life she once lived. Her soul had been transplanted into a mortal body, but the soul still retained all the memory of the Valkyrie she had once been.

With the block removed, Kalysto no longer wondered where her drive to be a competitor came from, nor why she felt more drawn to wrestlers than any other kind of people, and the great and powerful ones at that. Her Valkyrie lifestyle had always had some hold over her mortal life, and now, the hold was stronger. It would tell her every day to seek the souls of great warriors, to go where they were abundant and she would feel at home. There were strong ones toward California, and that was where she was to go.

Kalysto couldn’t ignore her instinct, not now that she knew what and who she had been. Saying her goodbyes to her friends, the blonde bombshell set off on a new path in her mortal life, hoping to find her way to her new destiny.

Special Abilities:
Valkyries have varied powers, and Kalysto has yet to find what her’s was. However, because she is a fallen Valkyrie, she has the ability to commune with wolves and ravens, kindred spirits to her and her kind. In addition, Kalysto has a great tolerance for pain from a residual invulnerability she once possessed, and has the ability to adapt to different fighting styles whenever the need arises.
