The Wendys Story
Posted By: Brendan Brethel
One night I was hanging out with a few friends. We were getting kind of hungry so we decided to stop by Wendys for some food. So, we rode to Wendys on our bikes. When we were close to Wendys, we saw through the windows that there were a few older black men in Wendys. At the site of the black men, my friend says that he does not want to go there anymore. When I asked him why, he said because he didnt want his bike to get stolen. Now, I was starving and I really wanted Wendys so I wasnt going to let a something like this stand in my way. I told him that just because they were black they wouldnt steal our bikes. We then rode up to Wendys and placed our bikes against the windows. Because my friends were still nervous about our African American friends, we decided to sit right next to the window where our bikes were. Finally, the black men get up and leave Wendys. After watching them leave, I said, "See, they didnt steal our bikes" and at that moment, we see one of them run up to my friends bike and he takes it. My friend immediately gets up and goes outside. I am still sitting there eating my food. The black man then returns the bike to where it originally was. Then, two minutes later, the black man returns with a few of his buddies who were originally standing by their car. This time they take all 3 of our bikes. I knew they would return them so I continued eating my food while my friend got up and went outside. The black men finally returned the bikes again. This continued to occur for the next five minutes. They would come and steal our bikes and then return them. Finally, the manager came out and told them to cut it out. The black men told us we were good sports and we then left. After leaving, we looked back at Wendys and noticed that the car the black men owned was pulling out of the parking lot. They then started to follow us. When we noticed them following us, we rode as fast as we could down the block and finally got rid of them. It was certainly a crazy night.
