At times I glance at your picture,
and wonder where you are;
My heart still holds you within reach,
Though in reality the distance between us is really far.
The moment I met you, a smile adorned my face,
Never eraced until that single day,
When things between us suddenly changed
And you tossed everything I loved about you away.
Maybe you didn't understand this love I felt for you,
Maybe no other girl before me felt the way I did,
Why do I feel the need to make excuses for everything you do?
At least I stood up and told you my feelings when those feelings you just hid.
Everyone warned me about you when we first met,
No one ever thought you were good enough for me,
I just shrugged them off, I refused to see,
Any bad qualities about you or that you'd eventually hurt me.
Guess I had too much faith
In the person you could have been,
How do I trust the next guy that comes along?
