Is the God of the Bible (Yahweh) the same as the god of the Koran (Allah)?

Here is a pretty extensive comparison between the characters and natures of the God of the Bible (Yahweh) and the god of the Koran (Allah). Now Yahweh says that, "I change not." After you compare the characters of these two, you will see that these two cannot both be one in the same. The Bible and the Koran did not come from the same source. Only One is God. Choose who you will follow.

God

Allah

God loves everyone, even sinners:

Allah does not love everyone. But only those that follow him:

Ezekiel 33:11

[2.190] And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

[2.276] Allah does not bless usury, and He causes charitable deeds to prosper, and Allah does not love any ungrateful sinner.

2 Peter 3:9

[3.32] Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

[3.57] And as to those who believe and do good deeds, He will pay them fully their rewards; and Allah does not love the unjust.

[4.107] And do not plead on behalf of those who act unfaithfully to their souls; surely Allah does not love him who is treacherous, sinful.

[5:64] Allah does not love the mischiefmakers.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God calls everyone (even the lost) to Himself because He wants everyone to come to Him:

Allah couldn't care less. He even leads people astray and from seeing the truth:

2 Peter 3:9

[32.13] And if We had pleased We would certainly have given to every soul its guidance, but the word (which had gone forth) from Me was just: I will certainly fill hell with the jinn and men together.

[7.178] Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the one who follows the right way; and whomsoever He causes to err, these are the losers.

[16.93] And if Allah please He would certainly make you a single nation, but He causes to err whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

[74:31] Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

Rev. 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

God keeps us from temptation, from falling. He also wants us to return.

But Allah keeps us from believing, and keeps us from returning:

1 Cor. 10:13

[4:155] Nay! Allah set a seal upon them owing to their
unbelief, so they shall not believe except a
few.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

[13.27] And those who disbelieve say: Why is not a sign sent down upon him by his Lord? Say: Surely Allah makes him who will go astray, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.

Jeremiah 3:14

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Got wants to be intimate with His people, and for them to know Him:

Allah is too high to be known. He is close only in the sense that he is knows everything - nothing is mentioned because of relationship or love:

Deut. 1:31

[56.85] And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see

And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

[57.4] He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is firm in power; He knows that which goes deep down into the earth and that which comes forth out of it, and that which comes down from the heaven and that which goes up into it, and He is with you wherever you are; and Allah sees what you do.

[50.16] And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his juglar vien.

Isaiah 40:11

[16.60] For those who do not believe in the hereafter is an evil attribute, and Allah's is the loftiest attribute; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Allah is abstract and lofty.

Jeremiah 3:14

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Hosea 11:1-4

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. [2] As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images. [3] I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them. [4] I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

Exodus 33:13-14

Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. [14] And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Jeremiah 24:7

And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

Hosea 2:19-20

And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. [20] I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

John 17:3

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

God has a begotten Son and is a Father to His followers:

Allah does not have a begotten son, or is he a father to anyone:

Psalm 2:7

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

[37.152] Allah has not begotten; and most surely they are liars.

[112:3] He begetteth not nor was begotten.

John 3:16

[4.171] O followers of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Nothing stated on Allah being a father figure or his followers being sons. His followers are just servants and slaves.

John 1:14

Psalm 68:5

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Psalm 89:26

He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

John 6:27

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Malachi 2:10

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

John 16:27

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

John 20:17

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

God is bound by His immutable nature. He keeps His promises and doesn't violate His own character:

Allah is limitless, to even break covenants. He changes, abrogates, and contradicts. He is capricious and untrustworthy:

[2.106] Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?

Numbers 23:19

[13:39] Allah abrogates or confirms what He pleases to. With Him is the Mother Book.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

[17.86] And if We please, We should certainly take away that which We have revealed to you, then you would not find for it any protector against Us.

[16.101] And when We change (one) communication for (another) communication, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say: You are only a forger. Nay, most of them do not know.

Titus 1:2

This brings up another issue: how can the revelations of the Koran be perfect (as the Koran claims itself to be), when later, Allah institutes "better" revelations and abrogates the old ones? God suffers and grieves because of our choices:

Allah cares not:

Genesis 6:5-6

[34.50] Say: If I err, I err only against my own soul, and if I follow a right direction, it's because of what my Lord reveals to me.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [6] And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

[5:41] For such it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts.

Isaiah 63:8-9

For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. [9] In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

There are no verses in the Koran that show Allah's grief for his people. Many Musliims believe Allah is too lofty to be brought down to the same emotional status of man. That would degrade his nature.

Jeremiah 14:17

Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.

God is triune in nature. Three persons yet one:

God tells His followers to love their enemies and pray for them:

Matthew 5:44

[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poorrate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

God tells His followers to preach the Word to every creature:

Allah tells His followers to spread by the sword:

Isaiah 61:1

[9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Matthew 10:7

[8.38] Say to those who disbelieve, if they desist, that which is past shall be forgiven to them; and if they return, then what happened to the ancients has already passed. [8.39] And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do.

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

[5.33] The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement,

Mark 16:15

[4:95] Not equal are those Believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled. And those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and persons. Allah hath granted a grade highter to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) hath Allah promised good: but those who strive and fight hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a great reward.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

[4.76] Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Shaitan. Fight therefore against the friends of the Shaitan; surely the strategy of the Shaitan is weak.

Matthew 28:19-20

[4.74] Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell this world's life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

Matthew 10:8

[2.244] And fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

God give us the ultimate choice:

Man has no choice. Allah decides who goes to Hell, then makes them suffer without a choice:

Deut. 30:19 - I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

[28:68] Your Lord creates and chooses as He pleases: no choice have they (in the matter).

[76:29-30] This is an admonition: whosoever will, let him take a (straight) Path to his Lord. But you will not, except as Allah wills.

[81:29] But you shall not will except as Allah wills.

[3:83] Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah? -while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willingly or unwillingly bowed to His Will, and to Him shall they all be brought back.

[14:4] God misleadeth whom He will and whom He will He guideth.

Which God would you rather serve?

The one that claims to be too high and mighty to be intimate with us creatures, slaves, and is untrustworthy because he has power to do anything, even break his own promises...The one that doesn't care who goes to hell.

The One that wants to have a relationship with his creatures, His heirs, and joys in keeping covenants with His children...The One that grieves over those that reject His unfailing love, and calls with outstretched arms...The One that loves you so much that, because there was no other way, He gave up His heavenly abode to come into the earth in a human body and give Himself over to suffer and die physically for (ironically) those who hated and killed Him. ?

                 Which God would you rather serve? Which One deserves to be served?

       It IS your choice.
