Sasha Valenis She stood over the bodies of the two men that night ... her eyes opened wide at what had happened... It was like some horrible dream. Just the physical pain was enough ... oddly the rage, that had ran threw her, had blocked the pain. but looking back she saw it as pain.

What was happening to her? What was she? Why'd this have to happen? Looking at her mothers body, she fell with a heavy thud to her knees, and began to cry.

"Easy now. Just keep taking deep breaths. Slow down if you can."

Hearing the strange yet oddly soothing voice of a male she looked up with shock at a tiger no more than 5 feet in front of her. Not just any tiger... Jake.

Her heart skipped a beat...

"That's it. I'm loosing it." She said to herself in thought her emerald eyes never leaving the tigers.

"Try to relax." Came the soothing voice again from the tiger.

"You're not real ... go away... Jake died 2 years ago." She said to the tiger. Amazed at herself for even talking to a figment of her imagination.

"I am very much real" came a soft purr from the tiger as slowly he began to grow and change. Ending up as a human male standing before her.

"And I'm here to help you last out the night. I think we've got a minute before we're going to have to get away from here, so just keep breathing slowly and try to calm down."

She did as she was told as she was in a bit of shock. he spoke his voice soothing her in a way. "Try not to think too hard about the last half hour." He paused for a bit, in thought of how to say it to her correctly.

"Now, you might have known this was coming. Remember the dreams you would tell me about? Dreams of running on all fours, smelling blood from miles away, the moonlight, The hunt. That's how are kind becomes emotionally prepared for the change. Most don't happen as young as you. But, it happens"

Yeah, I know the story. Particularly the next part." He looked at the dead bodies on the ground. "Something Triggered you, not hard to see what, and that something inside you snapped. The next thing you know, you're covered in blood, standing in a pile of guts and flesh and bone that used to be people."

At this she started to cry. Jake sat down next to her wrapping his arms around her and pulled her close. "It's okay! It's okay. This time, it's okay. Those people would have to kill you. It was you or them. You did good. You just need to learn a little more control.

"But, I don't want it ... take it back... I wanna go back to like it was before." She cried into his arms. "No, we can't go back. Your old life's dead. They had friends, and if they catch us, there's a fair chance that your new life won't last much longer. They'll probably have silver this time."

At this she shuddered. Jake took notice of this and pointed it out saying. "Bet you don't know why you just shuddered when I said that, do you? Or have you've guessed it by now?

You've just gone through your First Change.

You're Bastet, WereCat, Khan to be precise. Like me." He said with an almost purr.

It's been 6 years since that fateful event. Six years since my mother death. I've learned much since then. Taken in and taught the ways of my people. I've long ago accepted Who I am, What I am.

Threw Jake, I learned the storys of our peoples, of theLitany, of our beliefs. I've learned of war. I learned of the weaver, the wyrm, and the wyld. We are the wyld.

My name is Sasha Valenis, I am Khan!
