Jason knew practically every bit of Norse mythology, from Ymir to Ragnanrok. Each person that entered the gang got a name based on what he knew. Jason being the leader, he chose to be Loki, even though Odin was king of the gods.
Next, down from the leader was Eric, who had been friends with Jason ever since sixth grade when the gang was created and loved Norse mythology every bit as much as Jason. He took the name Odin and was placed second in command.
Next in command was Kenneth, Jason’s cousin who like Thor better than any other god, which is why he studied everything there was to know about Thor including his adventures with Loki, so he got the name Thor. The last five people were just members, but still everybody was good friends with each other.
First off there was Kelly who lived in the now always played life by ear so she got the name Verdandi. Next was Jennifer she always wanted to go back to when they didn’t have so many problems and the gang was just created, so she was given the name Urd. Last of the members who were given the name of the norns was Kasey, who always wondered what would happen if they did this or went and vandalized that so she was given the name Skuld. Even though the norns were hideous hags theses three girls were exactly the opposite non of them not one could be considered ugly, not even the slightest bit.
The last two members were boyfriend and girlfriend so if one got hurt the other would always stop everything until they knew that they were all right. Alex loved everything that was beautiful and good so he got the name Balder, although most that thought this were thought to be gay he was all but gay. His girlfriend Kara always spread love into the most unlikely places so she was given the name Freyja.
The gang was created when they were all in sixth grade and now they were freshmen in high school. Every time they committed a crime they somehow found a way to write the gang phrase which was ‘Bow to the Gods.’
The only time their gang names were used was when a notice went out. One Friday morning during breakfast Jason heard that a weird hammer had been found on the news. He was automatically interested because it was found at his favorite spot, a place where a bunch of different Norse markings had been found.
Later that day, during school, he wrote a note that said,
“Verdandi, Urd, and Skuld go check out that Norse site and see what the object they found looks like. Snoop around there if you have enough time.”

After he got through writing the letter he threw if in Jennifer’s locker so that she could find if and read if to the others.
During seventh period Jennifer went to her locker to get a book and found the note, read it, and after school walked to the site with the other two since it was only a mile from the school.
When they got to the site, Jennifer told them, “Alright lets split up each of us go out own way. Kelly you take the east section, Kasey you take the west, and I’ll take the north section.”
Soon Kelly found the hammer in a warehouse full of other artifacts. She got a drawing of it and the analysis they did on it and showed it to Jennifer and Kasey.
“We’ve got what we came for, but lets look around, a bit, we still have plenty of daylight left.” Kelly told them.
They agreed and went wondering around in a group. They walked around for about ten minutes when all of a sudden the ground gave way, and they fell about seven feet downward.
When they hit they fell unconscious for about an hour.
When they awoke it was nearly dusk, and all three had pounding headaches.
It was 7:10 when they got to the headquarters to meet and talk about what they had found and what had happened to them while they were walking around the site. When they were done, Jason said, “Alright since there was a lot of artifacts there we’ll all go there tomorrow after school ends. Good night.”
“Wait now I remember, the analysis said that even at the highest temperature the metal never melted, so the only metal strong enough would have to be made by a god since the metal is not classified as a metal from the periodic table. Its got the be Thors’ hammer,” Kenneth shouted out.
Then Jason told them, “We must go there tomorrow as soon as we can and retrieve the hammer.”
Later that night Jason ate supper, got on the Internet, and talked to a few friends. When he fell asleep he had a weird dream about all the people in the gang.
In the dream, Kasey appeared and told him he was to fight a long and hard battle with the reincarnated ones. Then everything went black for a few seconds, and then it showed Jason and the other seven people fighting each other, with dragons and giants running around. Then everything went black but this time he woke up.
The next day after school they all went to the excavation site to look at the artifacts that struck their interest the most.
First off were the different runes, but three sparked more interest than any others. They were the earth, moon, and sun runes, which were tied to much magic by the gods. They packed them three runes in a backpack to take back to headquarters.
After much searching they finally found the hammer. Immediately, Kenneth recognized it as Thor’s hammer. He picked the hammer up and said, “I shall keep this hammer in my possession at headquarters so nothing will happen to it.
When they were about to go, Alex was looking through different crates when all of a sudden he blurted out, “Hey you guys come look at this sword.” They all ran to the crate and gasped. Jason immediately recognized it as the sword of Loki. He could tell because it had two blades, spilt down the middle to the hilt. The two blades looked like two harpoon spears connected by a slice of metal. He immediately picked it up and put it through the back belt loops on his pants and kept it there until they got to headquarters.
When they got to the headquarters he took the sword out and stabbed it into a wall; Kenneth just laid the hammer on the table, and Eric put the runes in a glass case to display on a table.
When they were done talking, out of nowhere Kasey said, “The searching is through now; all that remains is to join with the reincarnated ones. They will awaken in three days from this hour and minute.”
“What did all that you just said mean?” Kara asked her.
Kasey told her, “I didn’t say anything, I was just sitting here listening to y’all talk.”
“You just said something about the ‘reincarnated ones’.” Kara replied.
“Oh well, it didn’t mean a thing. Lets just go home, get some sleep, and talk later.” Jason told them.
Two nights after that meeting, Jason had yet another weird dream, but it was surrounded by white and then the god Loki appeared with his sword unsheathed. He said, “You are leader of the great army of the giants, Thor, and Fafnir, the dragon that was banished to another realm with the other dragons by a wizard. We shall join, you and I, and defeat Odin, Freyja, Balder and the other dragons.” When he was done he thrust his sword into Jason’s heart and said, “This is how we join and die. The joining will be complete in three and a half quarters of the day.” Just as he finished he dissolved, along with the sword and flowed into the wound and sealed it.
When Jason got up the next morning, he got up rather quickly and felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down and saw the scar of a stab mark over his heart.
During school Jason asked Kenneth if he has any weird dreams last night. Kenneth replied, “Yeah, the god Thor appeared out of nowhere and threw Mjolnir at me and nearly ripped my arm off. I was sitting there wincing in the pain of the would when Thor said, ‘This is how we join and die.’ Just as he finished he dissolved and flowed into my wound and sealed it. Why ask?”
“Well, I had one just like it, but instead of Thor it was Loki and this morning I had a scar over the spot where he stabbed me. Did you have a wound on your arm?” Jason told him. Kenneth nodded and showed him the scar.
After school, they all met and told the story of their dreams. It was 7:30 p.m. when they met and when they all got through talking it was 7:50 p.m.
“Alright everybody’s told their dream, but now we have to decide whether to take them seriously or discard them. Each of the dreams said the joining would be complete at 8 p.m. and its eight minutes until then, should we wait or not?” Jason asked them.
“Maybe we should heed the dreams, with all that has happened, its probably for the best. First Kasey says something about the ‘reincarnated one’ and then we find Lokis’ sword and Mjolnir, Thors’ hammer.” Kara answered.
“Alright, we wait until the time that has been chosen which is in three minutes.” Jason announced.
Those three minutes were the longest three minutes ever. It was like waiting for a snail to go one hundred yards.
When the clock hit 8 o’clock the electricity went out, and five bright spheres of light floated to Jason, Kara, Kenneth, Eric, and Alex. They went straight for the wounds that were inflicted in the five people’s dreams. Just as the spheres joined with them, they felt their souls change, like they themselves were changing memories and experiences, but they kept their own memories and experiences and gained some as well.
That night they all went home confused about what just happened to them.
Only Jason stayed; he understood what happened, he had just joined with the great god Loki, and he felt Lokis’ power running through his body.
He went over to the case that held the three runes. He placed them in a large triangle design with the sun rune up top, the moon rune of the left, and the earth rune on the right. He started to recite an enchantment and kept saying it until a large circle appeared in front of him and said, “Fafnir great dragon, I release you from your imprisonment so come through the portal and join me in the fight against good.”
Just as he finished the dragon roared as it came through the portal. “Why have you summoned me Loki?” Fafnir asked him.
“You will help Thor, the giants, and I to fight the forces of good.” Loki replied.
“Have you summoned the giants yet?” Fafnir asked.
“No, but soon I will and the battle shall start.” Loki replied.
Loki told Fafnir to find someplace to hide and rest to save his strength for the battle ahead.
Just as he disappeared, Loki repositioned the runes where the moon rune was on top and the sun rune was on the left. Again he recited an enchantment until a portal appeared.
When the portal opened he said, “Giants come from your land to earth to join in the fight against good.” After he was done the giants stepped through the portal and said, “Finally we’re freed from out prison to destroy Odin.”
Later that night Eric came back and used the runes to summon the other dragons banished to another realm. Once he summoned the dragons, he destroyed the runes so that no other magic could be used with them.
In the middle of the night the souls that joined with the other people took over their bodies at their weakest point, in their sleep.
The next say, at the break of dawn, the forces of good gathered and so did the forces of evil. Odin, Balder, Frejya, and the dragons stood about ten yards away from Loki, Fafnir, Thor, and the giants.
Once the first beam of light went over the land, the gods started the fight. Thor threw Mjolnir straight at a dragon and split it in two. Loki immediately jumped on Fafnir’ back, unsheathed his sword and split dragon after dragon into pieces until there was only one dragon left, and he couldn’t kill that one because Odin jumped on it and took off.
While Loki and Thor were killing the dragons, Frejya and Balder were taking out one giant after another, and soon only one was left, which in a desperation move grabbed Balder and Frejya and tried to squeeze the life out of them. But Odin sliced off the giant’s head before the giant could kill them.
In a surprise attack from behind, Thor threw Mjolnir at the last remaining dragon and sliced it in two right beneath Odin. Odin, in a burst of fury, ran as fast as he could at Fafnir and cut off his head, before Fafnir could even react to Odin coming at him.
Soon after the gods started fighting they started throwing fireballs at each other and when they missed about an acre and a half of land was destroyed, and it was almost all the way destroyed.
After fighting for almost two hours and the earth was burnt to a crisp and Kara, Jason, Alex, Eric and Kenneth were the last people on earth, and the souls of the gods had left their bodies and left them the last of the human race, Alex said, “I am not going to stay on this earth alone.” And snapped his own neck.
“Alright before anybody snaps their own necks if you don’t want to stay on earth I will end your life right now.” Jason announced.
Everyone said they wanted to end their life, so Jason went and slit everybodys' throat except Kenneths'. He told him to slit his throat at the same time Jason slit Kenneths'. As soon as they slit each others throats the earth exploded in a mass of fire. After five thousand years', time started over, and history repeated itself over and over and never ended.
