The Quest; Our Quest begins in Riverdell where we are gathered for our Prince Legolas Greenleaf Son of Thranduil, Lord of the Elves of Mirkwood has been captured and held in Doriath, Thingols Hidden Kingdom by King Thingol and his Queen Melian.
Objective
Groups with two or more members will travel thru Middle Earth; their goal is to save Legolas before any other groups.
How do we move?
Points are your lifeline. In Riverdell you will start off with 100 points
One point equals one mile. You can earn 0-30 points a day.
You Earn these points by posting consistently on the assigned board, your creativity, and answering our random questions correctly.
Points will also be used to buy supplies you need, and some supplies are required. So you have an option to save a certain amount of points per day. Which you most indicate prematurely that you want to save points for supplies otherwise all your points will be used for miles.
What are supplies, and where do I get them!
Supplies Food for a 100 miles-25 points
Weapons per person-15 points
Choice of weapon;
Bow and arrow
Swords Dragger/draggers
Axe
Herbs-40 points
Healing herbs (These herbs if eaten will keep you going without eating anything for 3 months)
Extra Clothes-5 points
Shields and Armor-27 points
Magic Spells-50 points each
-Sleeping spell
-Sickness spell
-Healing spell
-Good/bad Weather spell
-Protection Spells
-Hex Spells
Other spells will be add with each trading post
-First Aid kit-3 points
Horses-85 points each
Ox-79 points each
Cooking pans- 5 points each
Tents-10 points each
If you need anything else that is not on list, just name the supplies and I will name the points. Chose wisely. If you buy a horse or ox, you will double mileage, but will have a later start and fewer supplies.
There will be a Trading Post Every 100 miles.
Characters:
Make your characters original; please don't use characters from the book or movie. Also please use characters from J.R.R Tolkien's world.
You may have Elves, Hobbits, Wizards, Dwarfs, Trolls, Orcs, what ever your heart desires.
There will be two different types of humans, the ones like us, and the Western men. If you want to know the difference, read the book.
I realize Elves will probably be the most popular SO I will add a gift package if you have anything else other than an Elves in your group.
You are aloud to create two characters, but you must have two different members on your team.
So if you want to be an Elf, create a different species with your second character so you can get my bonus.
This is just to make things interesting.
I can't find a second member!:
This may be a problem for about everyone while the game is new, so if you can't find a friend we will group you up with someone else.
We might even team you up with teams already made, and make you join them along the tail somewhere.
Can we talk to other teams?:
Yes, if they are close to you, obviously you can't talk to groups a 1000 miles away. We don't have cell phones in Middle Earth.
But we will have a board for you to go too, so you can go and ditch other teams and boast your own teams imagine.
Can we attack each other?:
Of course, you cannot kill other team members. But you can take supplies, but you must ask permission from us first before you attack.
Obviously you don't want to attack teams that have weapons and you don't. But you cannot take all the supplies they have, because they would die and that wouldn't be any fun. You cannot fight people far away they must be close.
How are battles fought?
Both teams will be given questions to answer, and who ever can answer the most questions correctly will win. Reasonable time will be given to answer the questions.
After the results are in, a small fan fics will be posted how the battle was fought and how it was fought, with all the characters, etc. etc.
Winners not only gets extra supplies, they will be rewards with a gift bag.
What are gift bags?
They can have anything, from food, armor, weapons, herbs, and spells. What ever I chose. What will happen if I don't post for a couple of days?
If you do not tell me of your absents, than after 1 week you will be killed.
And this will not be a good thing for your group.
What if I want to switch teams!
You can switch teams with the group's permission, but again they have to be close to your location. But your team will be royally pissed off if you leave.
You may also merge teams, to create stronger teams. But I must approve all of this.
Can I backstab my team, or a different one?
Yes, but this must be cleared with us first and that can create little battles.
How do I join?
First create a character,
Their name, description, background, special abilities, what species, sex, age. Just the general stuff if you have someone you wish to make a team with then just name them and give us their address.
If you don't have any friends that want to join, we will place you somewhere.
What do I role-play about?
You role-play as if you were your own character, you discuss you location, your plans. Just interact within your groups. Becomes friends, lover, enemies, within your own group, and possible with other groups.
What are the do's and the don'ts?
Cussing is allowed, but remember there will be younger adults here as well so watch what you say.
If you say certain words, very bad words than points will be deducted. No sex, do your cybering somewhere else.
If there are males on here or a male character and you want them to fall in love and have a million babies that is fine. But no one wants to read about them having sex, I think we can figure out what goes on behind closed doors so DO NOT post anything past pg-13.
Kissing okay, a little naught talk, okay. But points will be deducted beyond that and if it continues you will be removed from our role-playing board.
You can ditch other teams, but do not go overboard.
If I answer a question wrong are points deducted?
No, but you lose time hints giving other teams to pass you.
Are there traps, can we get lost?
Yes, there will be many traps only way to get out is by answering questions correctly.
You can get lost, because you will choose your direction how to get to the Hidden Kingdom.
Can i get attacked?
Yes, some locations you will be faced with trolls, Orcs, robbers, and of course the worst the nine. You must use your wits, and sometimes points to get free with your life.
Who are the nine?
The nine are the web masters, the Dukes of Role-playing. We can be your best friends or your worst enemies. We can give you gifts, or take what you got, if you answer our questions correctly. We are not there to save Legolas and we can bend the rules so we can go anywhere and be anyplace. We are here to make things interesting.
Are there other ways to get extra points?
If you write fan-fics about yourself and or your group, draw a picture of your character and or of your group.
Fan-fics or drawings of Orlando Bloom, or a character he has been. What topics will these questions be about?
About Orlando Bloom, Legolas, J.R.R Tolkien books Lord of the Rings, or other characters and movies Orlando Bloom has played in.
These questions can be easy, and sometimes very hard. But generally I'll make them kind of in the middle range of toughness.
